So I just got a 4 wheel alignment done on my taco because of excessive toe in and extreme outside tire wear...Now when I crank the wheel and turn slowly in to a parking stall or reverse my truck shakes or vibrates  hard...It doesn't do this while driving straight at all...any suggestions...Thx

Do you have a locker? Or is 4WD engaged?

Just sayin.....from your description, it almost sounds like one of those is possible. Almost as if something is binding....

Yes...It could possibly be some rubbing issues...but I thought I have more than enough clearance with my lift  maybe because my tires are pointed straight now and not toed in haha and I have a wider stance...I'll check it out...

My 4x4 Taco does the same thing during tight turns at low speeds (less than 10 mph) right after startup. Then it goes away basically after I've backed up and turned out of the driveway. I have the stock 17" wheels and stuff that 2007 sport package combo comes with. For what it's worth, the truck is definitely in 2wd when this happens but it's almost as though it's like turning with 4wheel low on.....any ideas?

has your truck been in 4WD lately? i know they are e-lockers but sometimes this happens to my truck where the light goes off but the front is still locked. try backing up 10 to 20 feet to make sure....always make sure :)

mine does the same thing. it didnt start until the tires got 1/2 wore. I thought it might be the rear locking as you turn sharp? Is this something I need to have checked out?

Well I did switch mine in and out of 4WD to see if possible locking was going on but I did NOT put it in reverse. This "shaky" feeling seems to be sorta common on newer Tacomas. Anybody with a PreRunner experience this or is it only 4WD trucks?

I dont have any shaking or anything on my 04 Pre-runner. Just my tire rubs very slightly at full lock on the fender liner. You sure you're not rubbing on any suspension components at full lock ?

My '07 2WD Prerunner has the same vibration. Really noticable when
backing up and turning slowly. Also when turning to the right but
not so much to the left.

I think it's the rear differential. I have a limited slip differential. I had my son go forward and backward with the wheel cut to the left. I could hear it
vibrating. Off to Allen Car Care tomorrow!

Took my 07 Taco to the dealership. Diagnosis: Lack of friction modifier. Strange because I had just put in Mobil 1 LS. They replaced it with
the Toyota brand ($6.25/qt) and Toyota LS2 @ $13.04. If you would have told me that I would have a problem with Mobil 1, I would have said you were nuts! Go figure!

Finally took my Taco in today for Toyota to check on the vibration/shaking feel at low speeds in tight turns. They said they duplicated it only 1 time while driving the truck and doing tight turns but feel it is the rear slip needing more fluid and additive. Talked to some friends who are mechanics and they said that seemed logical. Told Toyota to go ahead and perform the work. Will post results soon

Is the rear slip the same as rear axles and housing? Mine is doing this some. I thought it was the tires? Please let us know if this helps the problem.
