Anyone used these Rockford Fosgate speakers?

    Looking for something to replace the stock front/rear door speakers with that won't cost too terrible much. Came across these which seem to have good reviews. Curious if anyone here has used them and has any thoughts?

    I'm not one who blasts music super loud or anything and while I enjoy nice speakers, for the Taco I'm not needing anything super fancy. Just a better than stock sound.

    that's all I've used in my past vehicles. sounded great and never had any issues with them.

    I just did all the speakers inside the truck

    definitely do the kicker Subaru tweeters HUGE difference noted here repeatedly

    I replaced all door speakers with Infinity reference absolutely awesome running off the stock non jbl system I surprisingly enough removed the interiors which were the kicker cs's which were noted on here repeatly ( surprises of buying a CPO truck) from everything i have read on here stock speakers are GARBAGE.

    Thank you for this thread! I've been wanting to upgrade the speakers in my SR and wasn't sure where to start since it only has two speakers and two tweeters.

    Subaru tweeters listed above are a MUST... door speakers are nice definately recommend the adaptors come for free thru crutchfield...... watch the youtube videos i was done in less than 45 mins all 6 speakers....

    i also used to do car audio for a living someone with no experience a nice saturday with a 6 pack take your time watch video VERY easy probably 2-2.5 hrs with no experiece

    Yeah I did the tweeters before. The Rockford Fosgates mentioned sound great to me! Nice improvement for the money. The metra kit was a pain but you can just drill a pilot hole wherever the speaker holes don't match up.

    No need to apologize. Threads don’t expire. You’re seeking answers and that’s one of the main reasons forums exist.

    To answer your question, they don’t. 3rd Gen Tacomas (and 5th gen 4Runners) have speakers mounted in the dashboard facing up towards the windshield. 2nd gens don’t have any dash speakers. We have 1 speaker per door (double cabs, not sure about the extended cabs) and 1 tweeter per front door. You can add 3.5” speakers in the location of the oem tweeters and of course replace your door speakers as well.

    I also replaced all the speakers in my 2020 TRD OR. You are right...the stock speakers are garbage! However, I am very surprised you found the CS Kicker's to be crap. I replaced the stock speakers with the

    Kicker 43DSC6704 (rear),
    $100 Kicker 43DSC69304 KICKER DSC6930 6x9" (160x230mm) 3-Way Speakers, 4-Ohm (Pair)
    Kicker 43DSC69304 (front), and the Subaru (Kicker) tweeters in the dash. I have been hooked on audio equipment all my life...Klipsch speakers (center/front/rear), SVS subwoofer, and a Denon receiver in my "man cave." I am very pleased with the sound of the speaker upgrade in my Tacoma. I am familiar with most major brands of "better" automotive speakers such as Infinity, Fosgate, Klipsch, Kicker, Pioneer, JBL, JVC, Kenwood, Memphis Audio, Poke Audio, and on it goes. You probably won't go wrong with any of them. Most likely they are all made in the same Chinese factory...

    Sad to admit...I never did. The Audyssey Microphone is still in the small white box that came with the unit. I also have a Radio Shack calibration meter that I bought some years ago but again, never used. My "mains" are a set of Klipsch Cornwalls bought new in 1972. I updated the tweeters and crossovers a couple of years ago but they still look and sound great. I paid $650 for the pair and I notice now someone has revived the factory in Hope, AR and the exact same speakers are now somewhere around $3600 a pair plus shipping. Sorry TW members for going off topic....

    I have this setup, but with the integrated tweeters (component setup). It’s fine from the stock deck, but I really want to add something like the Kicker Key to them.

    I wrote that most of the automotive speakers are "probably" made in China. I know my "Kickers" were. (post #12)

    All my Klipsch room speakers were made in the good old USA! Thanks for the link...glad to see my Cornwalls are still in production-same materials and speakers. Although, I bet they cost more than the $650 a pair that I paid in 1974. I have two sets of grills and one is exactly like the ones pictured the link you sent with the famous V emblem. They still sound as good as new although I wish I hadn't sold my McIntosh equipment (amp and pre-am/tuner which was old) and bought the Denon.

    If you read the blog it says assembled in USA repeatedly. I could not find where it said made in usa, so I am assuming all components made in China and shipped here to be assembled. Might as well assemble in China.
