I try to get as close as I can to not getting a return. Mine is usually less than $600. I would rather manage and gain interest on my money instead of letting the government do it. They already tax us to death.

 

That's the goal. First year getting a return with this job. I'm going to have to look into it this year to optimize everything.
This year will be interesting, too. The whole marriage thing will be new..

 

Wifey was laid off half of last year so our return was minimal. This year should be interesting with her new job...

 

Sup Phill. Got asked to work a 12 tonight. Luckily the patrol officer tonight isn't for to drive, so I'm on patrol til 0400 then back to dispatch til 0600. So far I'm going to have 12 hrs OT this week. Not bad. We'll see if I can scavenge any more haha

 

Last year's was weird cause it was split between two jobs. This was my first full year with this job. Gonna have to see how the return goes and then fill out another W4. Also gonna have to figure out if the wife wants to file jointly or not.

Gettin that cash money. I'm on a 12 tonight, too. No OT til next week though.

 

I got fired last year in December (2018). That was shitty. My return was ok but I was only employed about 6 or 7 months. I'll be a year at my current gig Thursday. I'm interested to say the least to see my return this year.

 

I hit 12 years with the commonwealth yesterday so mine’s pretty predictable...

 

State employment?

 

yessir. 6.5 years as a CO, 5.5 years in the probation dept.

 

I've been trying to get a job with the state as well

 

Not sure about the pension system there, but I’m 1/3 of the way to retirement at 80%; which is the max. I’ll have 32 years in at age 55.

 

If the job doesn’t kill me before then...

 

Forgot tonight is a 12. Not super excited to stay another 5.5 hours.
Might just use up some vacay and make tonight an 8... I wanna go home.
