    this is from their homepage
http://www.corroseal.com/ ... i need to try this to see how it works

Corroseal rust converter is an elite, industrial strength product for all your marine, household, automotive, and industrial rust problems.
Paint, Prime, Convert Rust in One Step

    RESTORE METAL SURFACES
Extend the life of your metal equipment by protecting it from rust and corrosion. Rust occurs naturally when the iron in steel oxidizes and returns to its original state, iron oxide. Through an innovative chemical conversion process, Corroseal Rust Converter converts rust (iron oxide) into a stable substance, magnetite. It also primes the surface with a high quality latex metal primer at the same time. Corroseal truly provides one step corrosion control.

    CORROSEAL FEATURES
Water based rust converter with high quality latex metal primer
    • Non-Flammable
    • Non-Corrosive
    • Easy to apply (brush, roll, or spray)
    • Easy to cleanup with soap and water
    ECO-FRIENDLY ALTERNATIVE TO SANDBLASTING
Corroseal is the best way to deal with rust because it is less expensive, less time consuming, and is much more environmentally friendly than sandblasting. Corroseal eliminates the need to sandblast rust by chemically converting rust from iron oxide to magnetite, a black and inert substance. Don't remove rust, convert rust!

RUST CONVERTER - RUST PRIMER - METAL PRIMER
Corroseal rust converter is your best rust treatment and corrosion control option because it meets all your metal surface preparation needs by converting the rust and priming the metal surface at the same time.

Bronze rims look pretty good on a gray 4R like mine.

all i have ever really done is just power wand spraying the outside everywhere i could reach routinely when there was a huge amount of road slop accumulated,
some places i cannot reach in the 5 or 10 minutes i plug the hose meter, before i could swipe a credit card i had to stick quarters in with my hands shaking from near hypothermia ... I usually quit hosing when my extremities were starting to numb in the mid teen temps
and there was a rubber undercoating that may have protected 'some areas' but alas not all of them i found out last year where it seeped underneath in areas like by the cat

the best thing i figure probably saved it was NOT parking in a heated garage, so that it just remained semi-frozen in near zero temps and was not allowed to thaw when all the salt and slop just start rotting exposed metal fairly quickly i have read

Work has been a bore. Nothing really intriguing to work on. Just repetitive, boring jobs lately. Either clean or stand in front of a lathe and make 25 of the same part all day.

It will get better in time though.

So today at work we removed a walk in cooler out of a Mexican restaurant and that thing stunk. It had black liquid on the floor and coming out of the cracks. May take a break from Mexican food for a while now.

FYI Corroseal converts rust to Magnetite which is the BLACK SAND you find while panning for GOLD in the WATER. Why doesn't this black sand rust you ask? Because it's MAGNETITE. Much like anodized Aluminum resists corrosion in SALT water, MAGNETITE coated ferrous metals resist oxidation when exposed to severely corrosive environments.
