It's funny how things work out the way they do sometimes. Our local Goodyear plant here is buying out older folks and eventually want to close the Gadsden plant altogether. My home town is slowly dying...

My wishes for something good coming your way soon...

i would wait for graphs of both turbos spools with the finished release tune.

if the powermax spool around the same rate, I'd just pony up for them since there's more when you want more.

given atm, I have no plans of purchasing, but I for sure would want to.

I really don’t understand why someone would want a turbo on a truck that sees rocks.

    get a crawl box

My truck sees 95% pavement and hauls heavy loads a ton. It only gets played with on rare occasions since I don’t know anywhere to ride. I’m a picky person and am not going to have a brand new truck get pin stripes all over it.

because everyone's truck on this forum sees 99% of their miles are on road not off road.

it makes the driving experience to the rocks better, i'd say even with the cruise set the ride will be more enjoyable.

now hear me out, turbos are in no way needed, and neither is a crawl box needed to have a fun time driving the truck on road or off road, but either one would be a luxury to have.

Not this kit, boost comes in at 1500rpm with full boost at 2100rpm

now i'm no expert on boost, and i'm not going googling websites so hear out my thought process.

yes, if both turbo and supercharger were starting at 0 RPM, yes the supercharger obviously would spool faster from there.

however, what if it's from say the rpm the torque converter actually starts applying pressure and forcing the vehicle forward, what if at that rpm the turbo already has a little back pressure and from that point can spool faster than the supercharger.

given idk these things because I haven't studied the concept. I know spool speed depends on size of the turbine on the turbo. So a smaller turbo spools faster etc..

i'm just saying i don't think there's one solid answer for this.

I do know that ovtune stated he could make our trucks hit 20 psi boost safely, however he's going to retard the ignition timing like crazy.
basically it was not to think about how much boost you can make, but how much boost is needed to hit a certain power efficiently.

1500 can be kinda high approaching a rock, superchargers are generally more linear boost curves because of their power source i believe.

Jeff, is saying from a dead stop and crawling I believe.

also i'm just talking out my ass, lol

For offroad power nothing beats a crawlbox.

yes i get that, but that doesn't mean much if the turbos at the rpm that the truck starts moving is pushing the same amount of air. The supercharger will be quicker with rpm fluctuations, but again the turbo may be pushing the same amount of air at the similar rpm as the supercharger. It's just going to not feel as connected, but with an auto and the torque converter not being locked idk how much difference you'd feel.
