Use a compass and run it along the fender to ensure clean guide lines. Measure twice and cut once! its not so difficult as it is tedious.

Thanks. I like them but might go with at3 next time. They give excellent traction, ride really nice for a E rated tire, and are tough. But they are heavy and pull slightly on the highway due to tread pattern.

Strange, with mine, I was able to use 3 screws on each bracket without having to drill anything. I installed the plastic bracket on one side, then held the metal bracket up against the other so that it was lined up, and marked which holes on the head unit to use. Then I marked the corresponding holes on the other side, and crewed the metal brackets on easily.

You are correct about the 2nd gen plug interval. I've thought about installing iridium plugs, but find it reassuring to look at my plugs every 30K miles. I'll stick with conventional plugs for now...

Hmm. I sold my OEM radio, so I didn't keep the brackets. I HATE the Metra kit that I have. It rattles like crazy. Wonder what else I could do to stiffen it up.

    Do it!

I don't know why everyone hates the Metra brackets. As long as you reuse the clips for the face plate, the Metra brackets are only one piece of the retention puzzle. Personally, I've bounced my truck to hell and back, and it hasn't been an issue yet. Maybe over time it will develop a squeak or be rickety, who knows.

My experience hasn't been that, yet. But I also reused the clips for the face plate with the Toyota OEM ones and not the ones Metra sent.
