Trying to to decide between TRD and SR5 my oldest is going to college so trying to be fiscally aware. The difference seems like wheels/tires better suspension and crawl mode (want, not a need)... my questions is for a daily driver is $7k for those upgrades worth it, or am I missing something??

    Really appreciate the input!!

    I think this needs fixing!

This meant the ABOVE (at that time) quotes from @hoverlover and @MattCowsmasher about rear suspension bits.

This wasn't really meant to sound that MEDICARE drugs are expensive, in fact, my overall deductible was met (for that tier of drugs - 3 name brand, preferred). Rest of the year, $47 per fill up for that one.. would have cost even more without that Part D limit and price.
$0 for most generics, $5 for some generics.

My SURPRISE was that if you elect to have Part D Medicare drug coverage, you CANNOT have other drug cost supplements, and this INCLUDES manufactures coupons, discounts, or rebates. Last year, Pharmacist applied a coupon from Mfg to the cost, and I paid $0! This was when I had private insurance. So, my surprise was that kind of help is no longer available. We did not know that.

I used one of those "special price" deals when I had insurance - insurance said "go ahead", and paid nothing, so it cost me more actually, and I lost the deductible value.

So, expensive lesson for the morning, nothing more. (All these rules sure say something about the Rx business!)

My personal opinion is if you're going to be doing offroading, get the TRD offroad for the diff locker as most of the pro stuff you'll end up swapping for aftermarket parts anyway. IF you are purely doing daily driver then hit the SR5 and be done with it. Even with the SR5 you can still end up swapping suspension, tires, wheels, new skid plates, etc.

Not intentionally, but I'm now on my fourth set in 3.5 years. Hopefully I like these well enough to put an end to the madness.

As a DD that's not going off-road, stick with the sr5. If he wants to get into wheeling let him be the one to bear the brunt of that expense. The only thing that be added aftermarket is the crawl control and it's not really worth it

I feel you on that. I told my wife I decided on doing my build to be similar to the defconbrix build and without missing a beat she said "how long is this idea going to last until you change your mind". I don't have a legitimate comeback for her though. Build plans change more frequently than my underwear and I have remarkable hygiene.

Competing with @lilred95 for most owned Toyota wheels?

    SR5.
I regret not getting a base model and modifying to suit my needs.

I can honestly say I have truly "needed" my locker only once. I've had my truck for 4-1/2years.

    Save the money.

Well, working at the speed of a molasses, I spent the afternoon removing the spot LEDs from the bumper, because I wanted to put my cutoff fog LEDs down low. Problem still, I didn't have what it would take to slide the housing out further forward in the bumper. My imagined problem is that the bumper angle on the inside will block the middle of the pattern completely, and I want to slide it forward.
So, until I fix, I put the spots back, and mounted the fogs on the bar, aimed down.
They really are "not bright" to look at, but, they DO have quite the cutoff pattern! So, not done, more wiring to go.

I DID get something useful - inside the bumper, I used M8 speed nuts to replace the aggravations of trying to get nuts and bolts down inside there. Does work much better.....

Thanks Danny! I'll probably take one each loose tomorrow when I finish up the up front wiring, and just see how it works as is. Or, maybe the bracket I need will "come to me". I had some aluminum strip that's 1/8" thick that would have worked, but it's too narrow.

    Dibs on current setup....

Outside of crawl control and rear locker, is mainly the tech package and to tell you the truth the rear parking sensors and Blind spot monitor I don't utilize on mine.
