its always nice when it rains hard first before the snowstorm then they cannot put that garbage down because it will just wash right off the road
but then they just end up using something else

do you routinely wash it off when the temps are right about freezing?
    or use some anti-corrosion sprays

I wouldn’t say I do routinely, but I do wash it several times a winter; Definitely don’t use anti-corrosion sprays...

My truck was approved for the anti-rust spray back in October 2017 and my local dealer did that; Dealer says they are willing to go to battle for me against Toyota if I ever need a new frame.

No, and aside from very minor surface rust they look great!

Also, my truck hasn’t been regularly exposed to snow and slush.

your truck is only 9 years old, my relative has an '11 single cab that i just sprayed all underneath everywhere and there were just some crusty minor spots popping up but I wanted to keep it from getting any worse.
it looks real sharp at night under there with headlights on the rear axle, black and shiny

Actually, my truck is technically ten years old, as it was manufactured in August '09 and purchased in September '09. I can tell you right now that Michigan is the one state I'd never buy a used Tacoma form, no matter how good it looked!

Our roads are currently white, as of this morning. Like a sheet of paper. Looks like they went crazy after the fact on the ice.... Like i mean WHITE. Now I can't wait until it's above freezing so I can wash my truck again.

the white stuff i am assuming doesn't go into effect until it combines with moisture, humidity or whatever, and the whiteness disappears?

No. It's bad period. Even when dry the cars around you kick it up in a cloud that sticks to your vehicle.

i meant that it doesn't start to corrode anything until it gets wet?

If it sticks to your vehicle it's eventually going to be a problem.

They dumped truckloads of sand around here. The gravel roads are 100% ice. It caught me off guard last night and the back end was going all over the place til I kicked in 4wd

That's how they used to do it here. They still do that in the more rural area's and on the gravels. They used to do that everywhere, though.

They’ve been dumping sand on the gravel roads here too. I just put it into 4wd as soon as I get off pavement. Between the curvy roads and the hills if you aren’t prepared you could easily go skidding off the road and go tumbling down the road. The roads are not fun when things are melting off them.

Looks like we are actually going to get a bunch of snow tomorrow. Working from home and hoping to do some four wheel drive things tomorrow evening or Saturday. Although I need to grab a tow strap and a shovel.

Probably not a bad idea. As much as we are doing the freeze, melt, freeze, my yard is a swamp. Keep some boards on both in case we bury one.....

Everything here currently is ice, which is going to make it real fun when the snow starts flying later today and through tomorrow.
