Only "damage" was the missing paint you see

    upload_2020-1-16_5-16-1.jpg

Both ends looked like this because the original packaging these stuck outside the box, by design.

    upload_2020-1-16_5-16-18.jpg

Perfect fit. Still need to wire in my plug. Figured I'd do that before the bumper goes back on.

    upload_2020-1-16_5-18-29.jpg

Also, gotta decide what to do about the bumper: replace with stock style; or build something new. As you can see , it's seen better days.

Anybody that has done the transmission input shaft seal, have bolts shear taking the bell housing off? The video Timmy the Toolman did had 3 shear off which is kinda scaring me because I don't want to deal with that shit

I didn't have to take the bell housing off. Should be a small housing that holds the seal inside the bell housing. I think it had 5 bolts that holds it on, you should see them just right around the input shaft

I'll check that out, just from the video it seems you have to take the bell housing off but if not that's fine by me. Quick question did you have any rubber boots on the bell housing other than the clutch fork boot? I can't find anything about the vents I was talking about earlier

I got this screenshot from this site. But it looks like what you might've had on the bellhousing. And just like you mention, dunking it could definitely force those breathers out of place.
I hate looking stuff up with VIN but if you know your Tacoma chassis code that'll work too. This was under the powertrain/chassis sub thingy after you pick the chassis code(after selecting Toyota, then Tacoma, etc)
    Screenshot_20200116-094140.jpg
You can see the rubber breathers at top of diagram

Yes mine have the rubber boots I think they are 3 of them. If yours is a manual you shouldn't have to take the bell housing off

So when I put my frame code in I get this. Which doesn't have the side vent on it and obviously can't see the back one. The one you posted is a different bell housing than mine

    upload_2020-1-16_12-12-10.jpg

    Well shit...

I'll try that later today after I can figure out this stupid boot issue

It's not natural. It's uncomfortable. It's hard. And, I know it's the right thing to do - I want to find a way to cut some weight off of the Tacoma. Literally. :sawzall:

IMG_20200116_100725.jpg IMG_20200116_101013.jpg I was finally able to put new wheels and tires on. Also in AZ when a vehicle is 25 years old you get an awesome "Historic Vehicle" plate.

    Nope looks like this

From what all I can find only the W58/9s have rubber plugs in the bell housing. Every picture of the R150F series has those vents without plugs

Lol, yeah that was just a random picture on Google thats why I said similar. Those 8 bolts around the input shaft is what holds the seal housing on.
