LF: TRD Grill Backlit Letting DIY

Hello. I searched through the forums but could not find what exactly I was looking for. I'm trying to find a cheaper way to achieve backlighting for the "TOYOTA" lettering on the grill. Has anyone done this as a DIY? This is one thing that I do want on my Tacoma that I think looks nice.

Each letter is 2 part and 3d printed I believe(you can see the print lines on the inside faces)
Cheaper way I could think of is laser cutting the frosted letter(back plate) out of acrylic VS printing. You then need to diffuse the light which will require a small led strip around the inner perimeter. Good luck!

 

I think acrylic is the way to go too. I'll have to play around with the 3D printer and see what I can come up with. I honestly really like the looks of it, and think it looks classy. Everyone has damn raptor lights.

 

Oh and to caveat the reason why also I want a DIY version of this:

The color of the lights is off. It is extremely white/blue lights. So I don't know if it's like 9600k or what, but all the vehicle pictures I've seen of it doesn't look very good because it doesn't match the color of the rest of the vehicle's lights.

 

It would have to be a lot cheaper than $350 for me to be interested. I'd prefer a 5500-6000k color as opposed to hwat appears to be closer to 8500k in the pictures.

 

$350 is pretty high price point, but at a lower price I'd definitely be interested. Sub'd
