Excellent post benk0. It was strange that after I got my last alignment, the noise was gone for a few days but then it returned. I'm think those LCA bolts need to be tightened down. I'll check it out! So they only torqued down one of the sides?

Perhaps the alignment shops (both yours and mine) aren't torquing the bolts to spec. Chris, do you know if 100 ft/lbs is beyond what most other vehicles require?

And yes, it only seemed to be the driver's side. As soon as I can, I'm going to get under the truck and check everything out myself on both sides after this fiasco!

Oh, it's gone. And I've wheeled the truck twice since tracking down the issue. For me, it was the LCA bolts.

    A few bolts are different.

:yay: checking this tomorrow!!! I have been looking for answers for so long.

Note: mine does it way worse when wet outside during or after rain.

For me, torquing down the LCA bolts helped a little but I still get the loud pop. A shop told me I needed new bushings but I don't know how they could go bad so quickly. Truck has never been off-roading and I have a very mild suspension lift (bilstein 5100 set at 1.75" with TC UCAs).

Anyone have any noises with their 5100 shocks? The perch on the driver side isn't facing exactly to the engine bay where as the passenger side is. Could my noise be coming from the driver side shock?

I have basically the same setup as you. I have the same pain in the ass noise too. I torqued the LCA's a week ago and it seemed better but it is coming back. Mine is worse when it rains too. Someone please come up with a solution !! I am quickly approaching the end of my warranty.

I thought I would resurrect an old thread to mention that I had the same problem when backing up. As listed in the replies quoted, I torqued the nuts on the alignment cams to 100 ft/lbs. The rear nuts on the LCA were only snug. After torquing the problem seemed to go away.

After you all get an alignment, I would suggest you check the torque on the LCAs. The knucklehead at my alignment shop didn't use a torque wrench.

Hey guys. So when I was backing out of my driveway just now, coasting in neutral like usual, my front end made a funny sound. It sounded as if a tire ran over an empty plastic bottle. But there was no bottle. second time this has happened. Any input is appreciated. Thanks
