there are so many posts per day i had to use the search feature to find my own thread (what a great forum, so much informaiton). My friend who works at the powdercoating place is going to drop the bumper off tomorrow night or the next after work, he said it will get painted tomorrow but based on what time it gets painted it may be to hot for him to take with him when he leaves work, (powder coating is baked on at 400 degrees)

there are a lot of questions reguarding the durability of powdercoating on every forum i have ever been on i will post pictures of my Sliders and the bumper side by side, they are done in the exact same coating i think it will be 3 years apart i will post all the pictures of damage i can find on them, i think its only 2 pin size hole spots of rust from direct rock hits. the entire truck can side on them with dirt between it and they will not rust or flake off. This is powdercoating done correctly.

tomorrow i will take pictures of every tool i used but off the top of my head i used:

4.5 inch Dewalt angle grinder cuttoff wheels and grinding wheels
1/2 inch drill from harbor freight
Hobart welder: .35 flux core wire
    wood working speed square
    Traditional 90degree square
    tape measure
4 inch hole saw from lowes
1.5 inch hole saw from lowes
a 3 pack of step drill bits that i bought from harbor freight and WD-40
    blue magic marker
SAFETY GLASSES AND MASK- most important tool i own
55-gallon trash can was used as a working platform, and 2 saw horses
2 C clamps wood working type
various hand tools mostly used to remove stock equipment.

the metal working style clamp you can see in a lot of my pictures is actualy my ground lead.

The truck got her first washing in some time tonight in preperation for her photo shoot with her new bumper, shame it will be from a camera phone.

yeah i got really close to buying a bumper, i can't wait to get this back i can only imagine how bad this would be if i had ordered it and had to wait 6 weeks. i would be checking that shipping number like 5 times a day.

I really dont think that anyone could replicate this build for the cost that i have in it. Due to getting some insane deals but here are my costs:

    Cuttoff wheels 10@ 3$ each: 30$
    Welding wire 10lbs 1 spool: 45$
    grinding wheels 4@ 3$ each: 12$
1/2 inch drill (i burned mine up so im counting the replacement): 29$
    4 inch hole saw: 22$
    1 and 1/2 inch hole saw: 10$
    8 pack welding tips: 8$
4 inch exaust tube (got it from an exaust shop): 15$
    grade 8 mounting hardware: 35$

I got my steel for free from a steel yard that a hunting buddy of mine owns they do about 1 million pounds of steel a month they really dont mind the loss. I dont know how much this would have cost, if i was going to buy it I would buy an entire sheet of 1/8th I think i used most of one.

Paint im not going to put anything down for this either due to getting it done from my business partner. and this varys so widly based on what you want to do, you will have to fill this in for yourself

So my total in the bumper is : 206$

I may edit this based on remembering thing i forgot about buying.

You have that right... the only reason I got mine in 6 weeks or so, was because I kept calling and emailing them to see, if I could get it earlier, how would that happen? My wish was granted when someone that was waiting nearly a year for a 4runner bumper received a taco bumper with all the options that I had ordered. :)

wow someone was waiting a year, there is a chance that someone would sell the car before a year that is out of the question, if i had ordered a bumper and then hit a deer while waiting on it. i would be soo mad.

Yeah, but then again, if you have one of these, you could hit a deer once a year and not have to worry about much other than how to get the deer in the back of the truck before someone comes!!! :)
