Mine was built in Baja. I noticed a loose front body panel just below the headlight. Took it to the dealer and they said they are not able to do anything about it. They said it is just the way the truck was built and a few other tacomas have the same issue. He let me inspect other Tacomas on the lot and true enough, 3 out of 10 of them that I inspected have the exact same loose front body panel (under the diver headlight).

Built in Mexico by Mexicans or built in Texas by Mexicans. What are you expecting? If I had to guess between which one would be better would be Mexico because they don't put up with UAW bullshit.

I got the Tex-Mex 2.7l Taco, to go.
Nothing but awesome. After my 90's ford ranger rolling deathtrap, it's like dying and going to heaven. But without the dying part.

Mexican made Taco...all is good, little over a year and 15K miles to this point. Couldn't be happier with it.

As the OP, I stand corrected. Looked again at my window sticker and it clearly states, "Final assembly point...Baja, Mexico"; therefore, my mistake calling it a manufacturing point. Boils down to handmade (mostly) vs. Robots. Manufactured parts are sourced elsewhere and presumably the same for both Texas and Baja plants. As long as Japan monitors and supervises these plants, I am a happy camper.

I wonder if quality control suffers from Mexico to the us I'm sure there's some type of management that keeps track of consistentcy Through out the plant but who knows if it's day to day if you think about it Manuel might be on his a game Monday and does a good job but who says he didn't go out with his buddies Tuesday night for Jose party and come to work on Wednesday with a hangover and not preform the same he did on Monday I mean were not machines chet happens from day to day and that reflects on are work

My DCSB was assembled in Mexico. I read threads like this and did some research on the Baja vs Texas assembly and in the end decided to just buy the truck I liked. My only complaint so far has been that the black vinyl on the pillar between the front and rear windows is not even close to lining up. That seems to be a common occurrence though, and the super white paint definitely exacerbates the problem.

You're not gonna get a definitive answer to your question here, just a bunch of anecdotal comments.

Texas built may, 2018. Couple minor recalls and couple minor issues with the leather seats.
Otherwise no major issues, drives excellent and i am very happy.
