What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Finally got some wildpeak at3ws on my T4R wheels. The wife and I had to hit the dirt roads after getting them mounted on the way home.

 

Mounted my second gen low profile plate mount. I'm thoroughly happy that I didn't have to do the work myself. It was worth every bit of $35 shipped to not have to dick around with it for six hours. (https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...late-bracket-35-shipped.429680/#post-12353840) -- Only thing I had to do was add longer bolts for the plate retention and only because I have a plate cover (if I didn't have one, they were perfectly long enough to have worked).



Edit: Only slight alteration I made after I took the pictures, I took a floor pad for a chair and put it under the bend that sits against the bumper as well. I placed the other ones at a point where if something were to hit the plate, it would rebound, but I put that other bumper on the low part to try to stop any potential vibrations.

I haven't been off road yet. I tested it twice. First at the road next to the shop. one wheel on dirt/sand the other on pavement. One wheel spun a bit and the other thrust me forward. Then I was taking a left turn from stop in rain. A little chirp and I took off. Traction control never kicked in. That's the goal. Brakes are not what you want when your're trying to move forward.

 

No I didn't see a need.

i will not race anyone not on a closed course. i would like to do ride alongs to make comparisons for sure!

 

Where did u mount the horn?

 

My Relation Race Wheels finally arrived since pre-ordering them last December. Prior to them shipping, I received an email stating that they were shipping them less the ring bolts and sending them later as they had quality issues with the bolts rusting. Supposedly the new batch will have a better finish. I just put stainless steel allen roundheads instead of waiting. I like this look much better and don’t have to worry about a socket scratching the rims. Today I had them mounted to the Cooper Maxx T/A’s. Really enjoyed the drive home. Very quiet and the truck tracked very straight.

Paid it off. Along with the house. Bought it a year ago in April 2010 DBLC Sport 27K miles $23k put 12K down from Selling my Gen 1 DBLC SR5. Made double payment. Also paid off the house this month 30years and it’s now ours. Will pay off wife’s 2011 Mini Clubman in March. Not planning on getting rid of either of them. Have 2009 Venza the Grandkids who are living with us. One leave for Marines in March. The 16 year old twins ( boy and girl) are Juniors and need the Venza for Softball and Swim team and their jobs, the pay the insurance and gas. I take care of Maintenance and repairs. New car? May lease a Tesla just for fun. Mods on Taco probably only has 50K.

 

Nice Truck!! do you have to dispose of your tires? I know some places don't take them

 

They make some really good looking products, but be careful with buying anything that's a new line or product from them, they seem to have issues with first generation stuff, and seems to take a few rounds to get it worked out.

 

its a legality thing. if i dont go to jail id get banned here. comparing fast trucks is welcomed. side by side is a no no.

 

Beautiful wheels, how unfortunate about the bolts. Kinda of sh*ty for such a pricey wheel. Glad it worked out for you.

 

you can pay a $2.50 disposal fee per tire(state reg) or you can take them home and dispose of them however you please. Sale or repurpose them or whatever.
