I just installed my light bar into my bumper and waited everything up. But the only thing that bothers me is the switch the light bar came with requires me to drill a hole. So in stead I ordered a cali raised oem style switch. But I'm question is, how do I wire this thing up? My light bar has 3 wires (red, blue, black). And the cali raised switch has 4 wires. I just need instructions on what wire goes to each one and if I need to combine some. And does anyone know if I need to add a fuse for the switch to light up?

So I connected the wires. But now the switch itself illuminates regardless if the dash lights are on or not. I'm no electrician, so I dont know what to do now.

Sounds like you connected the Red 2 wire to an always-on, wire.

I combined both red wires. Not sure if that was right though.

Sounds like Red 2 should be connected to a separate switched power source, one that comes on when your dash lights come on and Red 1 goes to light bar

Yeah, just like what @Lost In The Woods said. You need to splice RED 2 into you trucks interior lighting circuit. RED 1 is for the actual switch operation of turning the light bar on. I have this switch and I did not hook up RED 2 to anything. The blue switch LED light will come only when the switch is pressed to turn the light bar on. But, since I do not have RED 2 connected to my trucks interior lighting circuit the switch backlight itself will not come on when I turn my lights on.

Red 1 should go to the relay and red 2 tapped into a wire for your dash lights. Red 1 is the wire that tells your relay to open and let the power to the light bar. Red 2 is solely to illuminate the switch.

I did the same thing with Red 2. I put a piece of electrical tape around the end just to be safe but other than that it's not connected to anything under the dash.

Is there any way to get the switch light to illuminate when the light bar is switched on? I'd prefer not to tap into another dash wire.

    https://youtu.be/Qk9NpKv1M2Q

I saw this video on YouTube and pretty much followed it. And it doesn't seem like they tapped into any other wires. And his switch does illuminate when the light bar is switched on like just how I want it.

i had mine set up the way you want it, had to tap a fuse to do it but, it only lasted a few days, and it stopped lighting up brighter, when switched on. contacted calirasied, where the switch was bought through their online contact form... no response. Ski

Yup! My light bar had a add a fuse already installed. Since it was 3 wires I just needed to figure out which wire connected to the switch properly. Then I sealed all the connections with shrink tube for added protection.

Here’s how I did mine. The first LED lights up only when the dash lights are on, and the second when I turn on the light and I can still turn it on with the truck off. Works like it should!

Harness with relay was really easy and the only way to go. The relay harness had 3 wires to the switch, blue/white/black. I used a ch4x4 switch with harness.

    On relay harness:
Standard connections, mounted relay and ran black to chassis ground and red to battery. Leg of harness had black to black of light bar and red to red of light bar.

    From the Ch4x4 switch harness:
Connect green wire to white wire of relay harness
Connect Red 1 to blue wire of relay harness
Tap Red 2 to green wire of cargo switch harness in the dash
Tap black wire to tan cargo switch harness in the dash
Tape off black relay harness wire

So if I want the light to only come on when the engine is on, should should green be connected to a source that only has power when the truck is on? Right now the light bar powers up regardless of the engine.

Did I figure it out? Yes.
Do I remember what I did? Well....... not really.
I seem to recall running a wire to the fuse panel down by your left foot and using a fuse tap. I’ll take a look later if I remember.
