    that exhaust looks mint. im use to rust ones and have never had an issue getting them with vise grips

    @Area51Runner I had to use a reverse threaded drill bit to get one of the LBJ bolts out. There wasn’t enough bolt to cut a slit with, so I used that bolt extractor kit.

    yeah. my luck I'll screw it up and the shop guy will tell me its not something they can fix (even with putting in a new bung) and I need a new cat. lol

    try vise grips. if that doesnt work, pull the car down and get the stud off. its not too hard.. you dont have to fight rust either.

    I guess I can pull that section (would have to if I wanted to try an extractor), rather not though. I think at that point I'll just take into that dude in the south bay. excellent work and reasonable on prices.

    yep, thanks all. going to see what I can do with vise grips and if that doesn't work, slap the band back on and take it in to the shop. hmmmm... headers? lol

    you have to cut the front cat (im assuming its the front sensor that has the broken stud) because the y pipe on the headers goes further and the sensor is on the y

    yep, its the AFR section. I'm thinking worst case he can just plug the original and put in another next to it (i hope). I don't want to deal with replacing the cat.
