If your check engine light is on, maybe one (or more) of your tpms sensors died. If you ever have a CEL it's always a good idea to scan it.

Your truck is 11 years old, you likely just have a dead battery in one or more of the TPMS sensors.

Most tire shops should be able to help you out. Call ahead and ask if they perform that service.

It's a good idea to replace the batteries each time you replace the tires.

The TPMS batteries are not replaceable. You must replace the complete sensor at a cost of $30 to $80 each, depending on where you buy them.

You said every tire. Did you check the spare as well?
Some Early 2nd Gen’s had a sensor in the spare.
I believe Toyota stopped this in later models.

Also, what does the light do right after you start the truck?

Did it flash when you turned on the key and then light steady?

Agree it’s likely a dead battery. Most shops can replace and reprogram.

corrosion and moisture can cause errors as well. Mine would go out after days on the sand dunes and very cold weather. I have been able to bring them back to life by deflating to 10-15 psi, re inflating to spec and resetting by holding the reset button under the steering wheel.

when mine eventually went out I just disabled the TPMS system.

when i driving light is teady, i did press button for couple seconds to see if flash stops but do nothing, do you think need more air pressure than 38 ?? they are regular tires (normal tires rim 17 from OEM)

If it flashes when you 1st turn on the key and then it lights steady, that’s likely a dead battery in 1 or more of the sensors.

think it’s the other way around. what does always flashing mean? That’s what i saw when they finally died. All tires and spare were inflated to spec. I think flashing means the sensor is toast and solid means tire is under pressurized.

I don’t know. I’ve never personally had 1 flashing. I just know when I dropped my wheels off at the tire place, and left, the light came on. When I came back later, as soon as I pulled into their parking lot, the light went out.

when you say batter it means from inside sensor tire?? do you think some scanner will detect tire in fail?? very interesting trying to do the same as you did "deflating to 10-15 psi, re inflating to spec and resetting by holding the reset button under the steering wheel" thanks for your quick help, im 51 and some time brian runs slow, lol

Yes, the sensor has a battery. Not a replaceable one. You have to replace the unit. I believe a qualified shop can detect which sensor is causing the error on some TPMS systems. Not all.

In the US, tire shops have equipment to check TPMS sensors and program the truck to recognize new sensors. Check with some tire shops in Mexico and see if they can do it.

In the US, new sensors are between $30 and $80 each and then you have to have them installed and the truck programmed.

My tire shop quoted me 350 USD for aftermarket sensors installed. The dealer wanted 1350! You can find them online for 80-100 for 4 sensors. But need to pay to have them installed.

there are ways to disable the light, but it seems every other year Toyota changed something and the process is differ t year to year. I know it’s very simple with the 05-06. But you would have to research what works with the 08.
