Does anyone try to limit artificial sweeteners?

I just started with a protein powder that uses sucralose and stevia. I'm thinking the extra protein in my diet will be worth the slight potential downsides associated with the surcalose. I am currently only getting about 160 grams per day which is probably not enough considering my muscle/weight gain goals.

I really try to limit my consumption. Artificial sweeteners #1 are a chemical made in a lab... that has never gone well in the food industry and I doubt this is an exception. #2 they raise insulin. This stimulates hunger and of course stimulates a fat storage response by the body. Probably the major reason why studies show people who consume AS beverages have the same risk of obesity and diabetes as those who consume sugar sweetened beverages.

I do enjoy my Coke Zero and Caffeine Free Diet Dr. Pepper but I try to limit my consumption to 2 a month.

Just a little anecdote. I’ve never been into regular sodas, only diet. When I go for a long run over 12 miles my body starts craving some Coke Zero.
There is absolutely nothing my body needs in it. This to me is evidence of how powerful AS are. Your body thinks its real sugar.

Stevia has actually been criticized for being worse because its natural so it elicits a more powerful insulin response.

Hmm, probably 24 hours. I do take medicine with it as well (dairy stuff upon consumption of it)

I've actually been trying 1 serving of greek yogurt a day, and i am not sure if that's what is upsetting my stomach, or that my fats are too high. (only 110g tho...) I think it's the damn yogurt idk.

Might be good to do some of the stranger exercises that people neglect, or even simply dedicate less time too. Traps, forearms, rear delts, abs... It's hard to say how quick you can recover though as I don't remember for natty life. I can recover, no matter how hard I smash shit, in 72 hours. Legs sometimes takes me another day.

If you could do M/T and then Th/Fri Split you can probably utilize that to your advantage. Gives you 3 day recovery, then 4 day recovery.

About to find out if these 355lb stone front carries are gonna happen at this event... I have two things programmed today: max weight farmers carries and max weight front stone carry, that's it.

    Not looking forward to it.

Did the whole “bicep curl with the ez curl bar” thing where you pass it back and forth until someone quits. We ended up doing like 15 sets of 10 at 50lbs and just ran out of energy  now it feels like my bicep is just jello. What a great way to end a workout

Off the floor and to the chest was easy. Walking killed my hamstrings and I'm not quite sure how to breathe with it up there yet lol I couldn't breathe at all with that weight on my chest, was kind of scary.

I got it though. It'll be a different story with doing three stones and then this one on the fourth.

I don't know that it would have been cheaper. The gel stuff I used to use would last quite a while and you didn't need to keep alot in the bottle. But, I don't use it any more anyway since I lift solo and haven't competed in years. Some days I think I could use the brain blast just to get the cobwebs out and get focused though! lol Still struggling with the possibility of letting go of heavy squats. :(

    Random thought.

I wear an Apple Watch everyday. Just looked at my activity so far for the year. I’ve walked 103 miles since Jan 1st. That’s just over 6 miles per day. Interesting.

Well, my job allows me to be as active as I want to be, and I have a 30,000 acre playground to play on. Why would I stay at my desk?

50 minutes of workout tonight, Core, Cycle, circuit, and then treadmill for cool down.
The cool part though was as I was leaving the gym I saw a guy pulled into the lot with a shredded tire so I stopped and asked if I could help, I ended up helping him change the tire and while we were working he wanted to know if I worked out often, I told him I was trying to workout more and he said that if I wanted a workout partner to hit him up.
After talking more I told him that I am typically doing cardio and the circuit, he offered to help me learn how to work with weights, I’m going to workout with him a few times and see how it goes.
He’s pretty fit and probably late 30’s and he doesn’t seem like he’ll be completely clueless in the gym.
