Not as exciting, but Citibank finally did it. Lowered my APY from 2.05 to 1.85. Still impressive, but I just liked that it was 2+.

I believe preferred stock is paid out after bonds are paid off, so from that standpoint they are in between common stock and bonds.

Unless the laws have changed you can actually avoid the 10% penalty and still retire earlier than 59 1/2, by "annuitizing" (NOT buying an insurance product) but agreeing to take "substantially equal payments" ( a regular monthly / quarterly withdrawal of the same amount ). It was a little known caveat back years ago when I was in the business.

oil fighting to get back into the bottom range of its bullish channel, looks like it just touched it and retracted back - potential bad sign for oil if stays out of channel for too long...

1 hour candles - 4th candle from right shows it just TOUCHED the bottom of the bullish channel

Oil is taking a hit because 99.9% of cars on the road in 10 years will be Teslas!

Just kidding, I think Tesla's a ponzi scheme. It will be funny when this bubble pops.

I recently (yesterday) got Robinhood and am playing with the lower $$ stocks and stocks that pay a dividend.
My free stock was IMGN and then I bought a few shares of KDP and F.
I’m just here for more data/info.

I just found the limit buy option in RH, I was hoping it had one because that’s what I am familiar with from my exposure to forex.

limit buys / sells are all I use - I hate seeing what I bought something at in the "open market" lol. Half the time the bid/ask spread is much larger than I care for

I bet this has to do with the brokerage firm someone uses. I have only ever used "market" orders, and I have always paid the price it is trading for at the instant I click to buy. I don't know for sure, but smaller firms might not be pushing big enough orders into their algos, or making transactions quickly enough, and end up toward the top end of the spread.

Edit: Of course liquidity matters (i.e. AAPL trades so many shares daily that the spread is almost zero, probably not the case for some other companies).

Yeah, I bought some shares today and by the time the transaction went through I paid $0.02 more per share than what I was wanting, from now on I’m pretty much going to use limit buy/sell exclusively.
