Poll: Have you bent a spindle?

Okay so. Until the OP developes his aftermarket spindles should we be buying swaybar style or non sway bar style. Or get non sway versions and add our own gusset to the tie rod arm

 

Well I say get the non sway and if you're bored add a penis shaped gusset to the tie rod.

One thing I've learned though is that this (meaning America) is a free country (kinda) and that everyone, I mean EVERYONE, regardless of race, creed, religion, political affiliation, gender identification, etc.

EVERYONE has the right to agree with me or be wrong.

 

I need a visual of this so called penis gusset

 

Impact parked in a ditch and bent the drivers side. The story of the resulting adventure will be retold for at least a generation.

 

For those who bent a spindle, was everything else OK or did you have to replace other parts?

Any tips or links on replacement?

 

With that bad of a bend, you might want to replace your inner and outer tie rod ends.

There is a seal you might want to have on hand in case current one gets damaged.

 

Will this work on a third gen?

 

Yes, the front components are pretty much the same from second gen to third gen.

 

What's the best way to get good spare spindles to gusset?
I see used sets for $200 but there's no way to know if they're bent or not

RockAuto has SKP for $110/ea brand new
no idea if it's high quality or not though. Never heard of that brand

other options were Dorman (heard mixed things about that brand) and Ultra-Power (sounds like a knockoff Nike shoe)
