The biggest issue is that the car manufactures need to start making all this technology upgradable. I fear we will be buy vehicles based off tech moving forward as fast as it is moving ....

Yes this. Tacoma's are supposed to go up to 300,000 miles. By that time the tech will look like two tin cans on a string.

I bought my truck for driving, not for apps. As long as it has am/fm radio I am happy. But I don't own a smart phone so maybe I am not the guy to complain about a lack of technology.

Wow, I can’t believe this post! I got flamed :bananadead: by some readers for questioning and making lesser tongue in cheek comments in regard to my < then 3 week old 2019 Sport, to the point that juvenile low IQ middle schoolers felt the need to resort to name calling in hopes they could look cool to the chicks I suppose. So that said, I absolutely love my JBL premium package with navigation Entune. It is the greatest thing since sliced bread! Ingenious technology. Nothing wrong with it and swear it sound as sweet as angels singing in the soft summer rain.
If this was, oh I don’t know, say 2002 ... it would be a really cool package!
    ;)

Crapple is dogshit. Id never own an apple product again. Andriod has the majority market share, why the hell would toyota switch to crapple play?

This site is full of cancerous troll fanboi douchebags that get triggered every time you say something slightly negative about the all mighty Toyota. They get on their high horse and act like "youre an idiot for buying a truck you dont like so much and if you dont like it you should go buy a ridgeline"

Clearly they have never modified anything on their truck since all their trucks come perfect and absolutely flawless from the factory with zero room for improvement.

Just use the ignore feature on the fanboi shitbags and this site will immediately get way more pleasant and useful.

They could put that where the QI charger is.

I am pretty sure that’s the Entune set up that came just pre-the version of Entune currently have in my 2019 truck. :D

It's a joke radio compared to any other good modern double DIN system. The nav (which I don't have on my SR) is also supposed to be laughable. But my base level Entune radio works well enough for me. It's Bluetooth functions are perfect - flawless so far with phone calls and texts, and it immediately picks up my phone and starts playing the last song right where it left off. It also has zero swirling multicolored graphics which is awesome for me as I'm not trying to impress 19 year old girls. It's great for now.

Now, the speakers - don't get me started. They're garbage.

I've been an Entune victim for many years now, under different cars. It's fine when it works. My first world problems with it are:
    - Buggy Bluetooth interface with Iphone. Frequent connection errors, mic. not working, etc.
    - General interface of Entune and the Navigation app. Feels like late 90's technology. Hate the clumsy navigation app and the place-holder album covers that Entune picks for genres of music.
-Iphone automatically playing random music when it connects to Entune. Although this is more of an Iphone problem.

I must be really behind the times because mine streams Bluetooth just fine. The navigation sucks but I use my phone anyway. Other than having maps integrated via CarPlay what other magic am I missing?
