I hit a rock while 4x4ing and now this warning is constantly on and taking up my dashboard. The dealership wants $1600 to fix the stupid thing. I just want the warning to come off so I can see the dashboard. Does anyone know how to disconnect the sensor or take off that warning? I've made it driving for 30 years without a blind spot sensor, I think it's possible to keep the $1600 and just drive without it.

Maybe try replacing the damaged device yourself. The screen will never be clear until the problem is fixed.

Push the BSM button so the light goes off? Not trying be flippant... but, I mean, you shouldn't get any warnings if you turn the system off.

I only say this because, last time I got rear-ended, the body shop forgot to turn the BSM monitor on, and so they didn't notice it was out of alignment/calibration/whatever. First thing I did when I got the truck back was inspect all the repairs, turn it on, and hit that BSM button. Then I got the BSM warning and handed the keys back to the attendant.

I disconnected the wires going to the sensor and turned if off using the switch located next to the Parking Assist. I never see the warning.
