55k on your clutch, and it's out? Man - do you abuse it on occasion? I ask, because I beat my Dakota some, and it was fine through 115k with a V8. At least it's fixable...

I think my rear drums were frozen this AM too - in drive, parking brake off....no go. wtf. reverse. go. blah.

I've only owned the truck for 1 month so if there was any abuse it was done on the previous owners watch. I only really went off roading in it for the first time last Saturday. Didn't abuse it. Toyota wouldn't warrenty it because its a "wear item" and the dealership that sold me the truck said I was on my own because I bought it "as-is" but they did help me find an affordable shop to do the work. Toyota wanted $3,500 to do the work, shop we found is doing it for $2,000...swift kick in the fiscal shorts but such is life.

Nice! I like the Toyo’s. Nice look while not overly aggressive on the street.

There have been quite a few people on here with 3rd gens reporting premature clutch failure. But, Toyota says "wear item, $3500 or GTFO". I think there was one a few weeks ago that went out at 30k, guy claimed to have driven stick forever, no abuse or wheeling, and got the same treatment.

Yup, thats exactly what Toyota told me, $3,500 for parts and labor. I had my truck immediately towed from there to a local independent shop and they're doing it right now for $2,000 out the door. Probably could have shopped a little longer to save a little extra money but this shop is going to have it done early next week which was motivating for me. Life happens.

you could always do the black taillight mod “BTLM”. It takes a bit more work, but the end result of worth it. I’m in the process of doing a set right now.

I'm interested in buying the morimoto headlights as well; what is your take on them? Also which website did you order from?

ps how is the fitment on the truck in your opinion? Any major gaps or anything you didnt like?

I'm debating these same headlights; what do you like most (and least) about them?

Drivers side RCI rock slider installed. PITA. Instructions poorly written, but great quality.

    Like:
    They are much brighter.
Fully adjustable both high and low (r/l, U/D)
    No chrome
    Plug and play
Full LED so no bulb changes

    Dislike:
You can’t turn the running lights off without unplugging them.

Running light connection is a bit janky

I actually think the stock running lights have a better look with just the bottom led.

thanks man! So you think they could pass as OEM in terms of their look? I'm trying to avoid that cheap/cheesy after market vibe
