My right turn signal is stuck on. Being right isn’t important I don’t think. I believe something shorted after a little rain last night and me having a small leak somewhere.

My truck does not have factory DTRL’s but as I understand, there is no turn signal relay to simply replace?

In the meantime I pulled the IG1 fuse in interior fuse panel to not look like a dummy driving down the road.

There is indeed a turn signal flasher module on the back side of the interior fuse panel. If I were going to guess I would replace that first.

Yikes! IG1 feeds a bunch of other stuff. One of the most important things it feeds is the park neutral position switch. If you want to kill the turn signals, you should be unplugging the TRN/HAZ fuse.

Thanks for the link. Checking through that thread it isn’t really clear which specific piece is the relay since some of the info covered in there is for trucks w/ DTRL which looks like the wiring is a bit different.

Are replacement relays a Toyota only part or something easily picked up at the parts store?

Thanks. I’ll swap that then in the meantime till I fix it

Here is the thread that shows how to take it all apart. The last pic in the 2nd post with the finger, is pointing at the tan non DRL flasher.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/05-drl-daytime-running-lights-install-oem.1475/

The non drl flasher should be available at your local auto parts store, but the really cool flasher is the Diode Dynamics Smarttap flasher.

As someone else mentioned it could be a problem with the turn signal switch. If you unplug the turn signal switch and the flashing stops, the problem is the turn signal switch.

I had thought about one of the smart taps as my wife has a new Flex with that functionality bit that isn’t worth $60 to me.

At least I’ve got the weekend to work it out.

Turned out, the problem fixed it’s self. Went to work on it earlier today and it was working fine. My guess being the bit of moisture that was creating the closed circuit and keeping the right signal on dried out.

Glad it's working, but...IME, nothing "fixes itself" , expect the condition to return.

Yeah I do expect that. Fortunately it doesn’t rain much here in good ol SoCal.
