How are 2nd gen Taco driver's seat bolsters holding up over the years? I have a 2019 SR5 at stock height, but I still have to slide up and over the left bolster to get in. I've been wanting 3-step bars but they're pretty $pendy.

    Thanks

My 07 is going on 13 years old and the seats look in better shape than my '14 Tundra with less miles did. No steps on the Taco, had steps on the Tundra. Seems like whatever material they're making the fabric seat cover out of these days, at least on the newest gen Tundra, creases easily and stays that way.

My 2013 with 134K miles is still looking good, stitching is still tight.

I've never seen a hole in a 2nd gen seat. The older trucks and 1st gen tacomas were known for this.

The sport seats that are in the TRD OR and the TRD Sport tend to wear a hole next to the round knob. My TRD OR has 205K on it and it’s just starting to get a hole. I bought a new OEM lower seat cover. I need to swap it out.

I always had seat covers on mine since day one. So they are in pristine condition

A little bit of this, a little bit of that...
What is the part number on that seat cover? My 2006 TRD Sport has the same issue with excessive wear near the lumbar adjustment knob.

There are different ones depending on if you have a access cab or double cab. The parts diagrams are a bit confusing. It’s best to have the dealer look it up by VIN.

Thanks y'all. I was talking more about the seat structure itself rather than the seat material, but it's good to know that the material has held up for y'all so generally well. Since no one mentioned any problems with the bolsters I'm going to assume no news is good news.

I had a 98 Jetta that I did a Meals on Wheels route in every Monday for 10 years. After 16 years with her (RIP!) I eventually wore out the padding and springs in the left driver's seat bolster with most of the wear due to upwards of 20 ins-and-outs each Meals day. Man oh man that car was fun to drive.

Rock on with your 2nd gens!

try not to slide off the seat, rather using the sill or steps to step down, lifting your butt off the side bolster. it WILL mash down soon enough. the fabric lasts tho

The bolster foam fairs way better than the cover material.
