This is a 1.5” front lift with ADS on all corners with a Dakar pack (now Icon RXT, much better). Unless you are rocking the snot out of that truck fast on the trails or washboards, etc. I would stick with the 6112’s and invest the extra money...just my 2 cents

Don’t get me wrong it rides awesome. If I did it again I would likely get the 650lb coils compared to the 700lb coils now.

You may want to check out the Bilstein 8112’s, those things are impressive too

    Thank you for the insight!

I feel that if I'm considering 8112's, then I'd just get ADS for certain at that point. The off road performance of the ADS is certainly tempting, and I'd probably use it for sure, but the 6112/5160's definitely seem to be geared for my use and budget (Daily Driver/Work truck that see's dirt once a month at most atm).

My only other concern about those Billy's is the kind of leaf pack I'd use, as I definitely want to swap out instead of getting an AAL. I wasn't sure what kind of packs I could mix with the 5160 without over-exceeding it's capabilities. The vote for the Icon RXT is good to hear as I wasn't previously considering those. Deaver U402's $$$ and AllPro $$ were on the radar, Dakar's were not.

A friend of mine and former TW member was raving about his ADS set up, though, so now I'm torn. I've also got the "Buy once, cry once" adage floating in the back of my mind. Good thing this purchase is still aways off.

ADS is solid man. It’s a race shock tho, not an “everything” shock. So it just really depends on your use and what kind of highway ride you want. I opted for the adjusters because I like to change between highway and trail/Offroad

You have a race truck? I never raced mine as that was an excluded activity in my insurance policy.

I race mine to Starbucks every morning so I can get to the mall first before it opens and park up front.

Ok...higher than normal speed in the desert truck. It’s hard not to when it feels so good.

So without the adjusters, would it even be worth it to go ADS?

I know what you mean. Ive been at "higher than normal speeds" on dirt a whole whole lot since getting the whole ADS setup. 20 clicks and the skinny pedal are like rum and coke

Probably yes, but get the clickers, you wont regret it. i have them all around and its amazing to switch it up on road surface and driving style

I cannot comment as I have never ridden in a truck with them, but I can imagine through the amount of R&D that the guys at ADS do...they will probably be cherry.

Not sure if yall follow Mcmasterfabber on IG, but he is Karl and the guy who rebuilds your shocks if you send them to ADS. He posted this the other day and I thought it was sweet:

    Only problem is :spending:

6112/5160's with a leaf pack and UCA as well as diff drop and shim kit can be had for less than just the clickers. And I always gotta pinch myself to remember that.

Hard to put a price on smiles. Smiles are a valuable thing :D

But the overall build quality of the shock is going to be top notch and the technology is really great, so you are likely still getting a great shock. And when its time to rebuild, you can just get them added
