Beta A got tied up on our second tests. Beta B has more time and his package is on the way to test for us this week.

Now this isn't about testing anymore because we know it'll work now. This is now more about us not being too fond with the ease of install for one of the steps that requires a wire snip (that's the easy part), it's the location of this ONE wire that we're not dead set on, so we’re looking at our other options to tracking this wire down to be intercepted in a much easier location, to keep it in line with the reputation our current kits maintain. This is the main hold up. We have documentation as it stands to install it, but this wire is behind the glove box and requires the glove box and surrounding trim to be removed, and even then there is very little room to work and access this wire. So if we find it rather annoying, we KNOW some customers will too and so we want to sell a consistent kit, not two levels of experience type kits that do the same thing. If there is no alternative, then we'll still release it with all the info for the install so that folks know what is entailed and what they're getting themselves into...damn Toyota...threw a wrench into the flow, majorly.

Just got off the phone with Jimmy. He walked me through the process and solved the problem I was having with the app portion of the remote start. Really simple, fast, and easy fix.

Will the push to start for 2020's be compatible with the smart key version also? Or are all push to starts smart keys?

The term "Smart Key" is synonymous with "Push to Start". It's the same thing, expressed in two different ways.

Just renewed my CL6 cell support for a few years and am beyond satisfied with this product since installing about a year ago. I’m sure this has been covered before but is there a way to disable the remote start for instances of say dealer service or valet?

You can disconnect the 4-pin black data-link connector going into the remote starter.

thank you for your response, that would require pulling apart the dash panels again. I meant electronically via the app or remotes

Is there a reason you want to disable this for dealer?

Unfortunately no. However, there is a "valet" button input on the module, HKEY gets the momentary button supplied (for programming smart phone module purposes). If you have push to start, it is not included, and we never supply it because: A) It is not needed, ever for programming, and B) people can brick their devices if they fiddle with it...including a dealer.

You can cut the red wire on the 4-pin data-link connector entering your remote start (small black connector you used to program, if push to start) and wire inline a rocker or toggle to physically kill power, but you will void your warrant with us on the kit.

You can also kill ground on the wire with eye-loop on HKEY the same way.

I do not recommend any of this.

Just purchased and installed on my 2017 tacoma was wondering if there's a way to adjust the climate control from the smart phone app, for instance turning the temperature up in the winter or down in the summer? I am assuming it just uses what ever it was set to last before you turned the truck off if you cant control it through the app?

That is correct, your last setting is what will be on when started. No climate control via app...I am looking as some tech I saw at CES2020 possibly coming out later this year that MAY integrate temp threshold settings but its not for certain if it will integrate yet.

VERY SOON!!! WE ARE CLOSE! It works, but we want a simpler install user experience. As most know, we're about ease above all before we go to market.

I just ordered a kit for my 2020 Manual H-Key and I can’t wait. It’s been a couple of trucks since I last had remote start and I’m tired of getting into a cold truck up here in Nova Scotia! I’m so glad you offer a plug and play setup!

    Awesome!

I’ve got Toyota Dealerships in Nova Scotia that know about us and refer us by the way! Buying direct from us you didn’t have to pay the $1500 premium to have our kit installed at the dealership!

They buy the $200 push to start kit, and charge $900 without labor, $1200 with/installed...I feel bad for folks that don’t know how to use the Internet...but to each his own!

Wondering if there was any update. I saw today start-x released there’s for the 2020 smart key. From there video there is a pink wire on passenger side behind the kick panel that needs to be cut and tapped into.
