Why are the sensors not covered under the warranty?

If they aren’t, why bother? If my TPMSs break I’m not spending a dime to fix them. Its an idiot light system that really is not needed but cool. I’m not wasting tons of money on an unnecessary light.

When I had a shop switch my wheels the TPMS malfunctioned for about 2-3 days then just came back online and have been fine ever since. That’s all assuming they didn’t completely break yours, which in that case, the shop that broke them owe you new ones. My recommendation, walk away and see if they come back online and work with the tire shop.

The dealer won't cover things under warranty if it was broken at another shop. That's just a bad way of doing business.

If I had a brand new vehicle I'd be pretty annoyed by ANY warning light. That would be hard to just ignore. But I also wouldn't swap tires on a new vehicle.

The original shop is the culprit on this one.

Why would something that another shop broke be covered under warranty? And to each their own but no way I'd drive my truck every day with that light in my face. I'd have to fix it.

Update. The tire shop is paying for the bill, but they weren’t happy about it lol.

    LS1 swap with nitros.
I had a Honda dealer install tires on my S2000. They scratched all four rims... admitted it, and wanted to refinish them. After I sued them they bought four new rims.
Dealership sucked at tires, and they were not accountable, hence suing them.

Good to see you got it ironed out. Chalk it up to experience. Never leave the offending shop without a complete repair.

"idiot light" ? No, the modern day TPMS reports actual tire pressure and IME is very accurate. At least within 1 psi. Just yesterday I stopped in at Discount Tire to have them add some air as I like to run at 35 psi and was down to 32 psi according to my TPMS. Tech checked and filled the tires, and is saw it registered 35 on their air pump gauge, and 35 on all 4 tires reported by the TPMS. This is a great tool and no where close to the older idiot light that only gave you a tire icon to indicate some issue.

They paid for everything... filing fees, another shop to mount and balance on the new ims, etc.

Not everyone owns a compressor and 3 psi most definitely makes a difference.

Im not saying it doesnt. Just saying that not everyone has one. Plus most tire shops do it for free without you needing to even get out of your car. Lol
