Buying a 20 sport DBLB AT with the premium package in the next few months and I would like to lift it but for the wrong reason. I don’t off road, I just like the look of the taller truck with beefier tires.

Anyone wish they had just stayed stock?

I love the look of my DCLB Sport with a 6" lift and 33's BUT, it's not very practical and if had to do it over I would not have chosen a modified lift of that nature. Maybe 1" or 2" tops. Drivability with a large ass lift suffers IMO and the sucky shifting is amplified pulling around all the extra weight, not to mention when I tow a small travel trailer the gas mileage was 3-6MPG on hills and 8-9 overall.

I would suggest staying at 3” or below. Just my opinion.

I did a 3/2 lift with 285/70/17 tires and love it; like you mine is a show pony not an (off-road) work horse :)

Looks good with smaller lifts. The 6 inch plus taco lifts on 33s looks bizarre af. Too much lift, not enough truck. Considering I’m running 2+ on 33s. No I don’t regret it. Stock sucks lol

stock height...I'm not wheeling anywhere that requires extra lift, I can get through most everything with stock clearance. On top of gas mileage, wear and tear issues, not worth it to me. A good set of stock size tires like BFG AT will get you most bang for buck. Although 2-3" lift on these trucks does look pretty awesome, have to admit

43D1F9E7-26EF-4E3C-A485-441E00953B12.jpg 2.5” / 1.5 “ lift. Depending on your needs do it. Going up to 265/75/16 in a few weeks. More practical for my needs. Imo for me I don’t need 285’s. There are threads on going 285’s the right way. Lots of members know what’s up with each lift and questions you may have. To answer your question No regrets on lift at all.
    Good luck.

I’ve lifted every truck I’ve owned. Nothing but issues. Yea it looks good for a while, but really isn’t practical. I decided not to lift my 2020 Tacoma. Instead I put 17” TRD 4 runner wheels and 265/70/17 tires and it look amazing. Drives perfect couldn’t be happier.

    Mine's lifted 2" (Icon Stage 2), and I couldn't be happier.

My wife complains that it's a bit high to get in to, she's 5'4" on a "feelin' tall" day, but I really love it.

My advice? Run 265s, not 285s. 285s LOOK a lot nicer, but on the 265s I get about 18mpg average on winter gas, in 20° weather. Summer average is closer to 20mpg.

Ive got a set of Bilstein 5100"s. Plan on running 285/70-17's.. Anyone know what height I should set the Bilsteins's at or if i'll have any clearance issues. Not interested in performing surgery on my cab..

    I love my 2" lift. I don't regret a thing. Mine compared to a friend's stock Tacoma.

My wife got mad that it was harder to get into haha.

I didnt like the noise from the tires (duratracs) that I chose for the bigger size. I would go less aggressive next time.

I had duratracs on my previous truck and they were noisy yes! Amazing in the snow when new. The sipes dont go all the way, only like a third way down, pretty dumb. The sidewals were soft too, they did look great though.

Dont think ill buy them again, unless ill live in alaska or something.

Only regret is maybe waiting, I could’ve used the money to pay it off faster and saved some cash with better MPG’s. Other than that, NO RAGRETS.
