Toyota stands behind their vehicles better than any American brand ever did. This is reason enough to buy one, no matter where it's assembled.

I'm concerned with how bad it's squatting with that quad in the back. Are they using Toyota OEM leaf springs on that thing?

Yeah that's bad, I would bet Tesla put coil springs back there. That piece of shit looks like it was made in someone's garage, because it was, they had to get it ready for the event they had.

Tacoma OE leaf springs are not that bad, especially with an AAL

    Ugly? Maybe, but "different"- definitely.

    From a recent article:

Tesla's secret sauce is the fact it appears the truck's exoskeleton also act as its body panels. So, all the rigidity and strength the pickup needs comes from everything you're looking at, and it just needs welding and assembly. The fact there's no painting involved, just plain stainless steel, is also a tremendous cost-saver...

I think that thing looks good, just not in my driveway...lol

Haha. Biggest rusted out shitboxes Toyota ever made were all Japanese built. The 90s 4Runners shipped with leaking head gaskets. My Japanese built celica was a great car! Until the shock towers collapsed into the engine bay due to the pinch welds rusting through. I really loved seeing the pools of oil below the brand new Runners on the lot. Great selling feature.

We gotta put this fantasy to bed.

2020 Baja Taco here. I would have preferred one assembled in the USA, because I want to support American workers. However, none of the VINs in my area started with a 5.
I can report there are no noticeable differences in quality compared to my 2017 made in the USA Taco.

I'm just glad it sounded like there would not be any job losses on the US side. Mine was hecho en Mexico and I have not had any issues compared to the made in US versions.

Found a co-worker admiring my taco in the parking lot. He said "there's a reason why all the terrorists in the middle East drive these things. They're bulletproof!"

Haha! the new Ranger roasted the 3rd Gen Tacoma in the 0 to 60.
Heck the 2002 Tacoma is still faster than the 3rd Gen.
That’s a lot of production being moved south of the border considering how many Tacoma’s are sold in the US.

2018 Tacoma’s sold almost 250k units (#12 of ALL vehicles sold)

It’s being replaced with Sequoia which barely sold a little more than 11k units (#202)

Tacoma sold 22 times as much as the sequoia and now they want to send all those units to Mexico. So yes, 550 direct jobs are being created on paper, but could change later. They have not talked about how this will affect indirect jobs from the hundreds of suppliers that contribute.
