What rear shocks are you running with no lift?

    I am getting the bilstein 5100s for the front to level my truck out but have found that the 5100s for the rear require a 1" lift. I found through searching that the 5125 shocks work in the rear with no lift but they are no longer available. What are you guys running? I hate to mix match shocks.

    4600's work with no lift and they're extremely affordable.

    There are plenty that run 5100's without a lift either though.

    The rear 5100s don't require any lift. They can compensate for up to 1 inch of lift, but they are designed to be run at stock height in the rear as well.

    I can run the 4600s but would rather run something more similar to the 5100s as far as valving. Having a silver shock up front and yellow and blue out back would be a little annoying too lol.

    I have read on here that people had the shocks bottom out in the rear when running the 5100s with no lift. The truck is offroaded some so I'd like to avoid that. I can make the shock mounts taller to account for the longer shocks but I was hoping for something bolt in since it's stock height.

    You will not bottom out the 5100s before you hit your bump stops. They designed the 5100s to work with stock height vehicles as a simple leveling kit that is an upgrade over a spacer kit. I jumped my 2nd gen twice with the 5100s on a stock rear end and there was absolutely no damage. I've had the shocks for two years since.

    Like I said, a lot of people run 5100's with no lift.

    Just buy these based on the part numbers -

    33-247724 21.26 EXT 13.62 COL Driver side shock
    33-247717 22.09 EXT 14.07 COL Passenger side shock

    They're just shy of 1/2" smaller than the other 5100 variants which should alleviate your fear of bottoming out.

    If you're off-roading to a much further extent than fire roads, camping, hunting, etc. then I say get yourself a lift already.

    Run 5100 in the rear of the 03 with no problem. It has a factory replaced leaf pack and its great.

    I will go with the 5100s front and rear. Thanks a lot for the help! I just bought this truck and actually just found that the previous owner of the truck had the rear shocks backwards so it mads for a weird feeling over bumps since one side didn't have down travel and the other bottomed out to soon. Not sure how they didn't realize something wasn't right after installing them.
