The G/F needs new tires on her 2018 Jeep so after her doing a long research she came up with the Falken Wild Peak AT3 she liked since she drives mostly City Street and very light four wheeling on the weekends going hiking. Does anybody have any feedback on the tire? I also thought while we getting a good deal through Discount Tire ($108.06 plus full warranty install for a P245/75/16) I placed an order for 9 tires to replace my girly Oem Firestones at the same time.

If somebody has a pic of a none lifted Taco with the Falkens At or 3 on it that would be awesome. Would like to see them how the look with a factory setting. Thanks and Cheers.

Thank you for your support Evlkarl. The Falken Wildpeak A/T3W is one of the favorite tires for TW members.

Here is a link to a thread on TW that is 242 pages deep about the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W tires:

^^^ The thread above was very helpful when I was getting a new set. Ended up getting the Falkens and love them. Actually got the load range E and still enjoy them. Here's a bad photo of mine with stock suspension and loaded with camping gear.

they are cheap, they perform good in every condition expect mud (obviously), they ride smooth and took barely any weight to balance out, also wear like iron. I think ive got almost 30000km on mine and im at 14/32s (e rated). For the price there hard to beat imo.

Thank you for the shout out to the crew at the Metro Mall location. I am always amazed when I go to one of the Discount Tire locations watching the crew in the back \hustling to complete every job. They work extremely hard.

    We appreciate your longtime support.

20,000 miles on them. Wearing good. Ride a little harsher than oem at tires. But any true at tire will. Smooth ride on highway. I highway commute 70 mph 60 miles a day. Awesome in the rain. No snow or mud to speak to though. I think the early problems came from the tires made overseas. Just check to make sure you get the made in usa ones and that all four have the same date code. You should check this on any tire you buy. Pics are with stock suspension.20190722_192725.jpg 20190324_151154.jpg 20190712_184239.jpg

30-31 but haven't chalk tested due to weather. With all the different sets of AT tires I've had in the past 45 years, these have been the ones that I'm most pleased with. Great bang for the buck.....

Geat a/t tires, low noise and pretty lightweight, i have the p rated ones and i have used them allot off road in sand and mud and woods, great traction and no problems. However they really suck in snow and are very dangerous here in canada

I had a set on my FJ and was glad when they were gone. They do fine in light snow and ice, but don’t fair very well when the snow gets deeper or slushy. The tread on these tires seems to want to follow in what ever track there is instead of cutting a path for themselves. Same is true in mud or any rutted surface. Gravel traction is only so so and they do not like wet fields at all. I only got 28,000 miles out of the set despite tire rotations with every oil change.

In comparison with other brands of tires I have run this is how I would rank them, in at least the environs of NW Pennsylvania..

    1. Cooper ST Maxx
    2. Dick Cepek Fun Country
    3. BFG AT
    4. Hankook Dynapro ATM
    5. Various off brand tires
    6. Falken Wildpeaks AT/W3s.

They were better than the factory stock Bridgestones but not by much.

My wildpeaks were absolutely fabulous in all types of snow. Crud, slush, ice, powder. They literally performed perfectly. I feel like were talking about completely different tires.

Whatever it takes to keep them at 38 psi warm. That gets me the best highway ride and mpgs commuting. Bumping it up to 40 will get you noticeably better mpg but feels like riding on a wagon wheel. Under 35 warm on thehighway doesn't feel stable. Winter time it's about 34 - 35 cold psi. Summer is less about 32.

Chalk test is overrated. Remember the psi in the tire changes as you drive. If you are going to swear by the chalk then do it cold and deflate your tires so that result is your warm running pressure. Otherwise to never see that psi except when parked.

Depends on what you are used to, i tried them for the beginning of winter and took them off about 1 month ago, they were literally dangerous here, on ice they are completely worthless and slushy snow, almost had an accident, couldnt stop at stop sivns or lights very well and always needed 4wd. After that i put on my winter dunlops wintermaxx and it was a night and day difference, barely ever need 4wd unless im going off road, and drives well on snow or slush or ice, so like i said it depends what your used to some will say wildpeaks are good in winter but if you compare them to true snow and ice tires they really suck, and if you compare them to regular road summer tires they arent that bad. But the truth is tires that have a harder compound for warmer weather and good resistance off road will never be good winter tires, not here in canada at least.
