Hey guys really quick question about bilsteins.....

    okay a friend of mine has an 04 taco that has a 2.5 in revtech (spacer in the coil i believe) lift in the front and an extra leaf in the back. He is interested in putting the bilsteins adjustable shocks for the front and replacing his rear shocks with bilsteins aswell. will he still get the additional up to 2" lift from the bilsteins with the existing lift he has on it now?

    Never stack lifts. NEVER. He will be ok if he leaves the adjustables at 0 (stock setting) and wants to keep the Revtech.

    but if its set at 0 with the blocks the billies will not provide any lift. i suggest ditch the blocks and set the billies at the highest setting itll ride better and be the same height

    so it would not be a good idea to leave the revtech in, and install the billies set at its highest position

    Not at all. One or the other. As Dirty said, ditch the revtech in the front. He is OK to keep the blocks in the rear though as rear shocks do not add lift. They only accomodate for it.

    I wouldnt do it to my truck. it puts a lot of strain on the suspension and if youre planning on using it off road it would be a really really harsh ride. Are you trying to get bigger tires on?

    Breaking things you don't want to. Just have your buddy buy new Coils (Eibach/OME) with the 5100's set them at 0 and be done he will love the ride and his truck won't fall apart from a shitty lift.


    Edit: I don't about the OME's but I got 3 1/4" lift from stock with the Eibach's

    update: its an 2005 taco not an 04

    he had put 285 tires on it and it rubbed so he went back down to 265s.
    whats an inexpensive way he can get the 285s back on there without the rub.

    You will have basically no down-travel on the shocks.



    What is the backspacing on his wheels? Did he trim the fender plastic, take off the mudflaps, and chop the body mount? That's how to get 285's to fit without rubbing.
