Perhaps, then again fighting and training could be the best therapy for her. Hitting the weights and bag is a huge uplift for me in rough times.

I saw this online and it made me chuckle.

"Cowboy's contract if he wins 3 million, Cowboy's contract if he loses 10 million, Cowboy's contract if he loses under 60 seconds and doesn't mess up Conor's hair 20 million"

I agree (partially). It helps me as well but I’m not a pro fighter doing this for a living against the best MMA fighters in the world. When you are a pro the mental game is incredibly important and distractions will get you knocked out. Been there done that but in a different sport. :)

Very true, for me the actual physicality of hitting or lifting is what I need. I have to fully concentrate on that task. Also, the rage factor works great for bag hitting.

One of my buddies is a Gracie black belt with his own gym here in OC.
He sent me the following text on Wednesday before the fight.

"McNugget has to win for the UFC to market him and make money.
He's lost 3 in a row, he lost both Diaz fights, then got beat down by Khabib.
I think Cerrone will take a fall for the red panty paycheck"

Of course my buddy couldn't wait to call me and gloat. When I go to his house to watch the fights there's always BJJ guys there (his brothers, his sons, and a few of his students),
he said they were all laughing at how fake it was. He said to watch the replay - when they're in the clinch and Conor is landing those shoulder strikes it looks like he's holding Cowboy's arm,
but if you look closely Conor really isn't applying any pressure on Cowboy's arm at all, Cowboy could pull his hand out and start swinging at any time, or at least push off,
instead both of his hands are completely limp and he's just letting Conor hit him..
At first I protested because I really like Cowboy, but I've seen the replay several times and I can clearly see what he's talking about..
Look at the Houston Astros, I guess people will compromise their integrity when there's big time money on the line.

I’d agree. Honestly, Cowboy has those occasional fights where he just doesn’t show up. This was one of them and Conor looked fantastic, very dialed in. The UFC cannot afford to lose credibility at this point in its growth by fixing fights. If that was the case then why not fix the Khabib fights? Also, while I like Cowboy, I’m starting to think he is even dumber than I thought. His disclosed pay (I know he’s under contract) was no different for this fight. I get the PPV points but $200K to Conor’s disclosed $3 million?

On the contrary the longer the fight goes the harder it could be to disguise that you're not trying to put up a fight.
I've been a fan of Cowboy for along time and I know what he's capable of. Robbie Lawler is a beast at 170, and Cowboy went the distance with him,
it's really hard to believe that Conor's shoulder strikes did more damage in a few seconds than Robbie Lawler did in 15 minutes.
This clip is just highlights from that fight, but if you compare the opening sequence, the punches that Cowboy gives and takes, it literally doesn't look like the same person.

If it was fixed it doesn't necessarily mean that it was fixed by the UFC, strings could be getting pulled or offers being made quietly by management.
Khabib has Conor type money, whereas Cowboy clearly doesn't. Conor could easily offer Cowboy that $3 million and not even miss it because he'll easily make ten times more in endorsements.

I think it’s gonna be hard for cowboy to come back. Everyone is going to know from now on to just hit that nose and his eye and he will immediately be injured. I think he’s fought enough and should retire before any more serious damage is done.

Cowboy is literally just that, a Cowboy. He loves to fight and live fast, all’s while marching to the beat of his own drum. While he is a good company man when it comes to work, he is not the kind of guy to throw a fight. Dana has been trying to get Cowboy to slow down his outdoor activities between fights for years but he lives like he lives and embraces and enjoys life, so I feel confident he’d never throw a fight. His nose looked broken right away to me. Last time mine was broken it kinda hurt....lol

Agreed. Being around multiple UFC fighters, none of them would throw a fight. It goes against their instincts, training, & mentality.

And these guys (as you know) are way too proud for that. This is their livelihood and they take a lot of pride in it. How is Austin’s recovery coming along? He is one tough young man! :)

UFC sucks. Cowboy should have never got that fight. Justin Gaethje deserved it. Now Dana says the next match is connor and khabib. Last i checked connor was dominated by khaibib and hasnt fought lightweight since. How does a welterweight match set you up for a lightweight title fight?
I like the exciting fights lkke everybody but they dont need to be forced. I dont even know why they have rankings anymore

Or Tony Ferg after he hopefully beats Khabib. Khabib just gonna kick connors ass again. Not that connor is bad but his take down defense sucks and he will never gwt khabib off him. At least Tony has good defense and stands a chance IMO

Over the years I've seen plenty of fighters exaggerate a groin strike or eye poke then on the replay you clearly see that they were faking,
so I wouldn't say that all fighters are pillars of integrity, or that it goes against their instincts...
How many times have we all seen an absolutely horrible decision, then the fighter has no problem taking that un-earned W.

I remember this Josh Koscheck vs. Paul Daley, Josh faking that an illegal knee landed - you have to jump to 1:34
