It shouldn’t hamper that at all. They are mounted behind the wheel. The middle pops off in an accident as the bag deploys and that section while coming off won’t be a problem with the force in which it pops off...

edit, it thought you were talking about the ones on the column

There are aluminum brackets that bolt into the stock holes. The brackets are slotted so you can slide the fan close to the radiator and there's rubber molding around the efan shroud.

I'm concerned about the thermo fan switch that is a blade type and sits in between the fins. I want to switch that to a coolant hose adapter type but not sure if it's as easy as soldering a new wire/thermo switch.

I checked the PCV hose and its dry as a bone. Also opened up the screw to check the level of oil in the S/C and when I removed the screw, oil started coming out, which tells me is full like it should be.

Maybe theres no issues at all and I'm just being TOO attentive to details. . . . .:annoyed:

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
if anything it looks like a slow weep from the rotor shaft seal behind the pulley. I wouldn’t fool with it until a full rebuild on the blower.

Yep, there is a seal behind the rotor shaft which leaks from time to time as well. Like zipp said, I would leave it until it is time or it gets really bad.

sounds like a plan. If there was a big issue, I wanted to take care of it before going to the 2.8.

It's all good. Sho-me speed is gonna take care of it. Toyota tried and 2 other shops would not mess with it because of the tuner. But sho-me speed is gonna do a full tune/dyno on it. Gonna cost a few hundred more but they will have it done in a few hours. They seem like they know what there doing. They build drag cars and do a lot of street car modifications. Will update on it after they mess with it

maybe connect it and t-tap to an alternate temp sensor. even if its not in a coolant pipe it may confirm an alternate reading potential. just an idea.

I seen it in person. It's a nice shop. It's pretty full of cars there working on so they must do pretty good. Want an update after they work on my truck? I have them scheduled for the 12th

The thermal probe wiring is solid exposed. I plan to de-solder it from the box and do a coolant thermo probe instead.

Damn, that is a lot smaller than I expected. Are you gonna just send it like that or are you gonna try and mount it to the oem sized shroud?

    parts and stuff
the obvious solution is to cut down the radiator to fit the shroud.

Probly just center it and then mount about 20 computer fans around the remaining part. :anonymous:

I dunno yet. I’ll have to mess around and see. I have my stock shroud I can cut up or get an fj one and cut that up. Have plenty of time.
