Looking for others' experiences with covering their trucks with a bed liner product. Brand of product? Cost? Ease of application? Durability? Color choices? Sprayed or rolled? My paint is in need of help, and considering this as an alternative to a repaint. It would be DIY project, but within my capabilities.

Are you keeping it long term? It would kill the resale value

I just read the opening post and a couple after and didn't notice what was keyed into the paint until a post pointed it out.
But the OP only made one post after the original to start the thread and holy shit does it make me count my blessings on dodged bullets in the past:eek:
Here is the only other post he made in that thread lololll:Dwell maybe not funny per se but definitely entertaining

Resale value was killed before I bought it 15 years ago, salvage title. So it's a keeper, for that reason, but also because it is still a great truck. 150,000, so lots of life left, and all set up to suit my needs.

I guess my question is why. It's extra weight over paint and it'll fade. You can touch up paint more easily too, imo.

If you like it no problem then, maybe just do the tailgate, see how that sets with you,

Maybe. But unless you are building a gram racer, does it matter?

    Not the good stuff.

Not really. And it takes more effort to damage it to begin with.

It’s actually a lot of weight. The equivalent o a passenger if you do the whole truck

But what is the advantage of the bed liner?

That does not compute! My estimate would be no more than 3 gallons of material sprayed on, times 10 pounds or so per gallon.

Linex is 0.7 lb per square foot at 0.125 inches thick. How many square feet are you counting?

I've done both Raptorliner and Monstaliner. The Raptor was sprayed and the Monstaliner was rolled. If I had known better, I would have Monstalined the Dakota and skipped the Raptorliner all together. It tends to be more brittle, and I've had to repaint the hood twice already in the 2 years I've had it on.

Here's the Raptorliner on my Dakota:

And Monstaliner on my 1st gen:
