    You might want to dig a few of the lower beeps just to see what it is. Nickels and some gold (depending on size and shape) beep lower on my E-Trac, as does lead and some bullet casings.

    Are you able to ground balance that detector? Sometimes ground balancing over the rock (hot rock, or heavily mineralized rock) your machine "sees" will cause it to not see it any more.

    Yeah, ya' gotta be a little careful. Sounds like you are on top of it!
    I haven't looked, but I would bet my last dollar that there are YouTube tutorials for your 800. I watched the orientation video for your machine on MineLab's site. That's a cool machine!

    You have lakes/rivers near by? Old fishing holes and swimming holes can be good (I am told).

    Looks like I'll be going out in the morning to have another look at the old site I mentioned earlier.

    @wilcam47 Andy Sabisch wrote a guide book for the Nox 800. I have his book for the E-Trac and it is very detailed! $25 on Amazon; money well spent in my opinion.

    You're going to notice for the pennies that the copper pennies do really good in the soil compared to the zinc plated pennies (a.k.a. stink'n zincoln).

    Copper penny years: (memorials)
    1959-1982

    Zinc penny years: (memorials)
    1982-present

    NOTE:
    The 1982 year pennies went through a transition phase, so to speak, from copper to zinc. You can tell by the year stamp if you look carefully with how it is "stamped". :thumbsup:

    Then again, you can tell if the penny looks good, it is likely copper. If it looks like HAMMERED SHI* (i.e. like how you would look like in the morning after an all nighter out with the guys :drunk::rasta:), it is likely zinc!!! :thumbsup::D:p

    Hope the description helps? :notsure::thumbsup:

    yep found a 1964 penny by my house, and 3 other zincolns...they look like crap but the 64 looks pretty good. its funny because the house is from 2007... I also found a smokey the bear plastic pin and frog busted off, thats what my detector was picking up. couple shell casings, some kind of pin and couple roofing screws. At the flip house I found my first pop top and "40" oz beer cap...I was getting some other readings but I was also close to the fence so I dont know if I was picking up the fence.
