OK, so... I have a 2017 and they still didn't improve the system.
In vehicle TPMS system is unable to find/read a new sensor by itself. You have to input the TPMS sensor's SN into the computer either by Carista or specialized tool that some tire shops use (and maybe there is another way, which you still need some special bs tool/scanner/computer program) . Now, that tool can scan and read your new TPMS sensor(!) so you won't have to remove it. Not sure if they can add 1 new sensor, or reprogram all 4(!) of them into their spots in the system.
And yeah, it's still only 4 sensors (at least in turd gen) even though there appears to be another "space" that you'd think should be used for a spare

Since I don't have friends with tools like that, I actually had to pay to reprogram my stuff...

Why not use a front hub that someone has changed? I'm thinking a broken rear shaft would be more difficult to find.

That's what I was going to suggest, I've used a hub before building a tire carrier. Alot easier to find to.

Been running into the TPMS issue too. Got new ones on my new wheels, local tire shop couldn't do it. He read all the TPMS IDs for me though.

Company I bough them from said they have luck with the Snap-On tool. Gotta find a shop with it.

If you need the axle shaft with the splines might be hard to find intact

Do you need all 6 studs ?

If not Why not just make what you need drill the 2 holes in a round plate a piece of pipe or bar stock the length you need .

I have a complete spare rear axle in my shed...
My thoughts as well. I’ve got a couple of these too...

I've got the snap-on tool at work and went thru most of the menu with no success.

Not exactly sure what you're up to and all, but... Are the new sensors for your year/model? Could that be an issue?
When I bought my wheels, they had 2017 T4R sensors in them. Guy that was working on it, wasn't able to read/activate them with his scan tool. After that I gave up, paid him for switching sensors, and then scanning/reprogramming my original one, because the system already "forgot" them after 2 months

Easiest fix for TPMS: just accept the orange light.

Scrap yard is finally frozen. Before that it was 6 inches of soupy mud so I’m not complaining. Feels good to be back to normal again. Weighed in at 8263 and weighed out at 6231 :D. Good morning :D
