Thinking of getting the Scosche TA2053S9B double din kit ($40 on Amazon) for a 2010 Tacoma because it only has 4% 2 star and 72% 5 star reviews on Amazon. While most of the Metra and Scosche units have enough bad reviews for quality of material, fit, finish, and being easy to scratch to make me wonder about their real quality, hearing from people here with experience installing this or other kits would help.

I have used both extensively and they’re both fine.

    Thanks Destin,

If you installed the kits in your own car how have they held up? If installed in customers cars, what differences have you noticed between the cheaper and more expensive units? These Scosche kits range from $18 to $40. Thanks

I’ve got a 3rd gen so none in my truck, but I’ve had people come in the shop with 08’s with the Metra kit still going strong. I imagine they will both hold up fine over time.
