    I do sometimes forget to turn off the light when done.

    The tailgate is open but the diamond back over closed.

    When I have a tent on the cover or a snowboard mounted on the back the cover can't be open. That's when the light comes in super handy.

    ok, NOW I get it. That makes sense. I stuck a couple of push button lights on mine and only use them when open.

    They are held onto the cover using 3M dual hook velcro .

    On the cover closest to the tail gate cover there is a 45 degree bend that had the word diamond back on it . On the back side of that is where I have this velcroed .

    The battery is also velcroed to the cover and well .

    I wanted this solution so I can open and close the covers with no wires dangling down .

    In the next iteration I will be putting an online timer so if you forget to turn off the light it wont drain the battery .
