It really comes down to how much your going to use is and if its worth it to you to buy a 500 dollar brand light vs a 50 dollar no name brand. Only real life comparison I have is that my squadron sports are brighter than my buddies 30 inch no name light bar. His also leaks and flickers, but it was a quarter of the cost. Worth it?

The cheap imports, that’s true. The name brand quality ones that’s not true at all. Rigid have their own internals just like BD has their own. Even internals among high quality ones aren’t the same.

I will add, for me, the extra cost ensures the things I buy work when I need them to work. That might be once a week or once every six months. When I need it, I need it. This is also why I run Warn winches. I could save a few bucks and buy a smittybuit but I’ve seen far too many not work when needed. I’ve never had one of my Warn winches not work when needed. (based on the number of smittybuilt I see on here, I know this isn’t a popular opinion :) )

This 100%. Get what fits your needs. There are options because everyone has different needs.

For me, I chose Baja Designs Pods because I’ll be using them on my truck for a long time. Want reliability, nice beams and they just look great. The lifetime warranty and supporting a local SoCal company are big pluses for me.

Ive owned a pair of $20 nilight LED pods from Amazon over the course of 5 years that outlasted 3 Wranglers and 20+ windshields from rock damage. Best investment ever

Caliraised is no where near the quality of KC or Rigid. They are the same 20 dollar Amazon leds just rebranded at 3x the cost.

I know roughly what the markup from wholesale to vendor is but not sure what the BD to wholesale cut is. I think you'd be surprised.

Me too man. I bought more expensive lights in the past, but have broken them on branches or whatever on trails or gravel on the highway. Most have been replaced with Kawell when they broke. The color and beam profile may not be quite as nice, but I don't use them enough to really care.

I have all BD lights on my truck. You can tell the quality difference in construction and with output and light pattern. Also I’m not hooking up a $30 light to a $600 switch system.

Sure the high quality lighting is expensive and most likely over priced. But it's kinda like the difference between a VW and a Porsche. The VW will definitely get you there. But, the VW ain't no Porsche.

There IS a difference between Quality and Quantity.

What about it? There’s no comparison between a Switch Pro and a $20 switch.
