If I could live in a place that had 3” of freshish snow on the ground year round, I totally would.

lols window tint, good ac, and tank tops. Run up north to camp as much as possible. Long as u aren't in construction it's not too bad imo, but I've lived here my whole life and prolly have adjusted. It's prolly hell for people who are out of state in for the summer

I just see it as a giant sauna, good to clear the pores, if u need work on the truck just do in the morning or at night

Yeah the elevation there is what saves it and makes it a nice place. Even the high desert out here in CA wouldn't be so bad if only it didn't get quite so hot in the summer. In winter though the high desert here gets plenty of snow. But also most high desert towns in CA are meth villages so there's also that

Bishop is a really nice high desert city right in the foothills of the lower eastern Sierra...about an hour south of Mammoth. That's a really cool place, @theesotericone lives there and raves about it. Beautiful backdrop and tons of local wheeling

I too finally scratched one off the list...

    1. Change Engine Oil
    2. Rotate Tires
    3. Wheel Alignment - Caster back to 3.5 from 3.9
    4. Remove ARB, Valve Cover Gaskets, Timing Belt, Trans Cooler install, Radiator hoses/clamps
    5. Swap out Grille and put the ARB back on

Figure the truck will be sitting for at least a few days while I tackle #2. :help:

I owe Vicente a birthday gift, and that’s his dream car so I pulled the valve cover and the center gauges for him along with the VIN plate. Think I’m going to stick the clock in the oil fill hole.

I did unspeakable things to that car to get the center gauges out.

Damn you've got some high caster...I didn't think we could go that high without doing it via the adjustable UCAs. Your SPCs are in the normal setting right?

That’s a super rare center gauge cluster too. The analog clock is very uncommon, they were usually digital.

yep. default setting. I like the extra clearance but I have been seeing very light feathering on the outside shoulder - doesn't make sense since my toe is good. Going to try bringing it back to 3.5 | 3.5, 0.0 | 0.0 Camber and 0.0 | 0.0 Toe.

Pressure is fine also - currently running 35psi

Yeah I need to take mine in for an alignment too in the next few days. Place isn't cheap ($130) but they do a great job and work primarily on 4x4 Toyotas

$130 isn't bad at all. Last place I went to (Tyler and many others have used them), charged $150. I thought they did a decent job but this wear is bugging me. I need to call them and ask about the wear I've been seeing. Probably just going to say bring it back in and charge me another $150. :notsure:

As long as it gets sorted. Don't want to be buying another set of these tires any time soon

Outside edge sounds like a camber issue. May need a touch of negative camber.

Yeah, they have me @ -0.3 L & R now. I always thought that outside uneven wear/feathering was a toe in issue. @ 0.0 toe now both sides.

Toe is steering related, could be the problem. But I think camber is more likely.

It's really not as bad as you might think it is. Low humidity makes it much more tolerable and you are in A/C more often than not.

On another note, picking up one of those old 1st gen rubber bed mats from another member. It was listed on the local craigslist, so contacted the seller right away. Someone had snatched it up but the seller said it was someone on TW and to check there since they were only planning on using it for a week. Posted in the NorCal CL thread and sure enough, dude was using it to transport his new bumpers from the powedercoating shop. So worked out.

Might just throw it into the truck as is or might pull the drop in liner. Not sure yet. Last time I removed the liner, the rails and the bed itself had only small paint wear spots in a few places.

Still looking for a new/old stock DC bedrug. :pccoffee:
