Current plan is to go grab it tomorrow. I rented a small SUV from enterprise for the rest of the week super cheap, so I'll probably just go grab it tomorrow.

    Same crap everyone else got
That's some good carnage. It looks like the holes open outwards and not in so was that made by parts trying to exit or by smashing it on something?

Went down this mess. Tried to come back up but high centered on the ruts. Had the locker on. Wonder if that broke something.

I was able to back down the hill but I was stuck, so I had to call for help. It was like 30 and raining. At least we had the RTT and the fire pit.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
That’s exactly what happened. Most likely the tires did not stop spinning in gear before the shift from R to D, or vice versa was made.
My buddy did the same thing at Telleco. I watched it happen in my buggy behind him.
I have seen these load up and come apart like this before.
Usually the axles break first when you have wheel spin, and then the tires suddenly grab traction. However, if your wheels are spinning and you make the shift into a different direction, the TCase will allow you to do so (unfortunately) and you will grenade the diff.

How long before you got into the ruts did you engage the locker? If it wasn't fully engaged, it could've engaged while you were spinning and broke the diff. I witnessed someone blow up a rockjock60 from hitting the locker switch while under power.

I had it on the whole time. Never switched it off. Going to pick up a full rear end on CL today. If anyone has time this week/weekend to give me a hand swapping it in that would be cool.

    Will provide beers and food!

Yeah it's still snowing so we'll see if it accumulates overnight.

Nice, how much did the whole axle cost ya? To make some money back part out your old one. If you have patience, you can nickel and dime yourself back a pretty big chunk of cash for you old stuff.

Depending on when you are trying to get it in I can maybe come over after work. To bad you didn't have it earlier b/c I was off all day today and we could have had that thing done in under an hour.
