If you shoot often you will be detecting bullets/casings for years to come!

I have never detected in water. It sounds challenging for sure.

    Good luck to you!

Reminds me when my brother and I were kids, we were shooting a BB gun and we would recover them because... well, I/we weren't a rich family so we had to make do with what we could.

Anyways, we would recover the BB's with a magnet and my brother just happen to sweep past a dead cockroach. Pretty OBVIOUS it was dead!!! Anyways, the roach MOVED and stuck to the magnet???!!!:goingcrazy::duel: We immediately started freaking out and starting to contemplate that roaches really were going to survive a nuclear blast and this was proof positive of THAT!!! HAHAHAHAHA, neither of us wanted to TOUCH that F'N ROACH!!! It might have been radioactive for all we knew???!!! Mind you, we were about 10 and 15yrs old, me the youngest dirtbag kid. HAHAHAHAHA

Anyways, we didn't see the BB that just happen to lodge into the belly of the dead roach until my brother finally saw the BB. YES, the roach was pretty damn big and for only being in SoCal??? Roaches don't normally get that big in SoCal. I still have yet to see one that big again and this was decades ago when this happened.

I know OF that detector, but have never used one. The one I have is an old model Garrett Infinium LS that can also be used for scuba diving, but I don't know how to scuba dive. I got it because it's a PI machine and can surf hunt with it... well, ankle to knee deep is as far as I'm willing to go. I can swim, but I don't consider myself a strong swimmer. I know my limits.

Anyways, good luck. I know there are those that dive and metal detect and they find some super cool stuff for sure!!!

Yeah, that thing scared the HELL out of us when it clung to the magnet. Especially when it "floated across" the ground to the magnet???!!! We were like, "Whoooooa???":goingcrazy::duel:

To this day, we still bring that story up every now and then and just laugh at it looking back!!! :D:p:laughing::laugh::rofl::rofl::rofl: GOOD TIMES for sure!!!

Well I always look at it like I need to get my money's worth out of it at least...this is an expensive machine so I definitely got a lot of digging to do. I really dont see how you can get bored with this hobby, its not like you dig up the same thing twice. I mean technically you dig up a penny multiple times but its not the same penny. every dig is something new.

@wilcam47 Is the battery in the 800 removable? I just read over on T-Net that a guy with a 600 got it wet, had some issues, and he unplugged the battery. I assumed that the batt was built in.

From what I gather over on T-Net, both are waterproof, but a couple folks have seen an issue with the 600's. It may be caused by improper usage.
I read a thread and it got me thinking about the built in battery and being able to disconnect it.
