If tiny little Hondas can break them then I don't want to see what a truck can do. The price is real tempting though.

I'm not worried about it, the brand that these are blems of have zero complaints on this particular model. And if it breaks it breaks, I have spares, it wont happen at speed most likely, it'll be under stress like a launch or me smashing a rock

I had a little look into the rotas breaking, looks like a lot of their earlier models (makes sense with the crappy quality of the above images) were cast copies of forged designs, not enough strength due to changes in the creation process. Pretty much all of the Rotas post 2010 are all beefier and don't copy the sharp angles of the original forged wheels they emulate. That said, that only goes for Rota, not what I bought, but I will say they're quite beefy and I have zero concerns about them, from a price perspective I could destroy and replace the entire set two times before reaching the price of similar competitors and the odds of that are low.

I saw this earlier. I’m not even mad, I’m impressed. You could see daylight through the hood.

Clutch finally went out today at 175k .I know there's a fuck ton of threads on this but Marlin, LCE, or Toyota? Also tools/timeframe I'll be doing it in my driveway and it's cold as hell right now.

You're welcome, makes sense really. Rota being a mid grade clone company can't afford to produce a forged wheel at their price point, so casting them (a process that's completely acceptable and common) but still copying the features of a forged wheel (smaller more detailed features that are stronger) would be problematic... because well, the strength just isn't there. Theres a reason forged wheels are so expensive haha, but beefing the designes to make them thicker solves the issue, they just aren't as visually similar to the forged wheels they're copying

Ouch, get the Marlin clutch if you can, avoid the LCE ones unless you're just a street truck. HF adjustable jack is worth it weight in gold.

Exedy or Aisin and make sure the new throw out bearing is a Koyo or other high quality bearing. Many of the 'kits' people are selling come with a shit Chinese throwout bearing that is causing problems
Edit : corrected above on the clutch brands. I meant to say Aisin. I put Luk brand clutch on accident, but it may be a good quality brand still, I just don't have experience with it

I'll never pay for work on this truck, I'm bundling up and riding the motorcycle into work at 5am tomorrow

Probably ordering the Marlin kit and renting/borrowing a transmission jack. Crossing my fingers for an easy install

Gotcha, it's not a small job. Doable for sure, but not a small job like brakes or something.

It's not that hard, just make sure you factor your t-case into your weight distribution and strap the trans down to the jack. Getting the trans off the engine if it has never been done can be a pain, they sieze to the dowel pins
