I've been having a hell of a time trying to find the right guard for my DeWalt DW402 Type 4 angle grinder.

Anyone have the same grinder and a part number for the guard/shield? I ordered one from DeWalt a while back but it doesn't fit.

Looks like the factory part is discontinued, don't know the likelihood of a supplier having one in stock.
This part number what you ordered?
    450733-00

No superseding part number either, the price I saw last listed for that number was $72 anyway, pretty ridiculous.

When I looked the grinder up on their site this was the number they had at the time

Now I see the part list from this site, but yeah. Guard looks to be discontinued, so don't know what to do now.

Unfortunately this is probably your solution Alec. Or risk the digits and potentially worse.

The multi grinder method is great, never have to stop to change from a cutoff wheel to a flap disk. Just change grinders

I think I'll keep this grinder as a wire brush one and buy another corded one for wheels

    Cordless is nice!!
Granted not as much rpm but does the job well especially when away from an outlet
