that is exactly what I was saying to @Kwikvette - might as well do the TB if he's going put that bumper and winch on. That way he can forget about it for 90k. haha

Maybe it was the fact that the capture nuts (3 on each side, or was it 4) were worn out but it took 2Beers a couple of hours just hassling with those things. One comes loose and drops, you have to pull all the others to get the dropped one out. SUCKS.

I'll pretend the bumper still needs to come off though so I'll have a more logical reason to get a winch sooner

oh I fully agree - 1 person can definitely install the bumper. its just a PITA the way ARB designed those capture nuts. Tyler got mad and shook the hell out of the transmission jack - I'm afraid I'm going to grab the f-ing saw and start hacking away at the bumper. :annoyed:

Since I started replacing vacuum hoses with silicone I've somehow created an intermittent vacuum leak. It's not enough to cause a check engine light, but I can hear the VSV clicking while in idle. Also detecting a fast "whoosh" noise somewhere behind the plenum or near the vacuum booster. Every hose I've replaced feels tight. I'm about ready to crawl back to the dealership and get OEM hoses. It's driving me nuts!

Any risk of damaging the VSV if I can't get this sorted out soon enough?

Which winch did you run with this bumper again?

It won't hurt it, but a good rule of thumb is never put silicone where there are fuel or oil vapors, that means no PCV or EVAP, because they both make the silicone gummy and it can break down and suck closed

I pulled my flatbed's R150F by removing the transfer case first. Then when reinstalling my "new" R150F I realized the dowel pin from the old trans had stuck in the block and I was smacking two dowels against each other. On my final install after heating the old dowel out the harbor freight jack exploded on me. What an experience.

It was...it works pretty dam good though. You can get a less expensive winch and it will most likely do its job. I just always wanted a warn
