    Hey Guys,

I wanted to pass this on in case any of you are in the market for a rear axle tool so you can perform the rear axle seal/bearing job on your 1st Gen. Duane, the guy who makes the really nice tool that is featured in the video below has it on sale currently for $125. He usually sells it for $170. The link to the tool for sale in Duane's Ebay store is in the video description.

One important thing to note is somebody has ripped off his design and is making the tools in China and importing them to the U.S. for sale. It's a complete ripoff with them even using the same wording for the product description and they even ripped off the photos I sent from my garage for Duane to use in his product listing. Please don't reward these A-Holes by buying it from them. Duane's Ebay store is called Donald-the-Bonald. Any other seller with a tool that looks like his is a counterfeit.

If you're going to buy a tool, please buy it from Duane because it's his design and he's making them in the USA at his home in Omaha Nebraska and not in some Chinese manufacturing plant using slave labor.

    Thanks!

Hmm I might need to invest in this.. I don’t think my axle seals are leaking but I should probably check. My dad has a 3rd gen 4runner and cousin also has a 1st gen Tacoma so I’m sure it would get its use.

Awesome, thanks so much for the info Tim, love your vids.

Is their a way to tell if your inner or outer seal is the one leaking? or you can't tell so you might as well change both?

There's only one seal that can cause a leak and that's the inner axle seal that goes inside the axle housing.

Yeah, I have found that but I would like to deal with him directly so he can avoid paying ebay fees. With ebay new payment system, sellers are having to pay 12.5% + 0.30 cent per transaction. Ask how we know :annoyed:hahaha. Which to my knowledge ebay now forces you to use their new payment system.

Just message Duane through his Ebay store that we link in the video description. I'm sure he'd be willing to deal with you directly and bypass using his Ebay store. I have Duane's cell phone number and email address but I'm not going to give it out without his consent.

Duane's a very approachable guy. Have you tried messaging him through his Ebay page yet? I messaged him on his Ebay page and was pretty quickly having a conversation with him over the phone. But, if you want me to be the go-between, go ahead and message me and I'll pass on the message to Duane.

I messaged him right as I was walking out of work Friday. So I'll check it first thing Monday morning. Thanks!
