I've said it before and I'll say it again...

The typical public school special education system, even in the best of school districts, is geared towards lower-functioning students who struggle with tasks that most people take for granted. I constantly clashed with teachers, job coaches, and other staff members because I was consistently treated like I was stupid! My job coach at the retirement community where I worked from April to June of 2009 was probably the worst offender in this respect!

Everyone knows what BC and AD refer to...

Well, the purchase of a brand new Tacoma for me by my parents in September 2009 can be compared to the birth of Christ in my life...

Once I got my license in 2011, the world (or least Bucks County, Pennsylvania and the surrounding area) was mine to explore! There is nothing quite like having a driver's license, and a reliable vehicle that you can jump in drive anywhere at a moment's notice!

So you’re in the year 9 AD (Around Drving). But received your truck in the year 2 BC (before cruising)

They have a beautiful old house, all this land up here belonged to that property and a wealthy old lady lived there. She had all kinds of improvements done so that the County Fair parade would come thru and she would watch from the Widows Peak.

    @El Duderino

With regards to my post from this earlier this morning, about working at "subcontracted" jobs provided by the intermediate unit, one thing we've always been able to agree on is that people should be paid for every last bit of work they do; I've adopted a "not my property, not my problem" philosophy unless I'm getting paid. There are definitely exceptions to this rule; Most notably when I'm helping a friend or family member out, or if I'm helping out a stranded motorist (When somebody has a dead battery, I'm always first on the scene with my jumper cables!). @Taco critter probably remembers when I jumpstarted a guy's 1965 Oldsmobile 442 with my Taco in a shopping center parking lot last year!

That said, I'll do pretty much anything that's asked of me that isn't amoral, dangerous, illegal, or unethical as long as I'm getting paid for it; When I was still in the BCIU (Bucks County Intermediate Unit) and based in a building at what was then Delaware Valley College (now Delaware Valley University), I'd say in late 2009 or so, one of the teachers who I never particularly liked took a group of us over to the campus gym and told us to start wiping down gym equipment; I flat out refused to do the work and walked out because this was not my gym equipment, I had not gotten the equipment sweaty, and I was not getting paid!

Being made to do extra work for no extra pay is one of the main reasons I left the detail shop after ten months! At my current job, I get paid the same hourly wage whether I'm sitting at my computer or vacuuming the conference room, so I'm happy!

I am just a nice guy; When I see a motorist in need and I think I can be of service, I will gladly help out and not expect anything in return. If I saw a lone police officer trying to arrest an uncooperative suspect and believed that cop's life was in immediate danger, I'd probably pull over and help the cop get the suspect handcuffed and under control! I just see it as helping out a fellow human being...

However, I simply refuse to maintain someone else's property for free!

Especially when the owner of the property has hundreds of millions of dollars (perhaps billions) and is more than capable of hiring a dedicated cleaning crew!

Last year I got new headlights at the local CARQUEST franchise; This particular location is owned by the dealership where I used to detail cars, so I got a decent employee discount. I'd say within less than six months of the headlights being installed, they started to leak and got moisture on the inside of the lenses. I went back and talked with them, and they'd be happy to replace the headlights under the warranty, if I have the receipt. The problem is that I don't know what I did with the receipt! Several of the employees remember the transaction, and one even recognize me, but these bureaucrats refuse to do shit without the receipt. This is one of the situations where I'd listen to my heart and my common sense instead of company policy...

If I can't find the receipt, I supposedly have one other option; The owner of the entire company works out of his Ford dealership and has an open door policy for dealing with customers. I talked to another customer who got parts for free after the headlight assembly in his nearly new Grand Cherokee had to be replaced in order for the SUV to pass inspection, and the dealer tried to charge him like $1,600. Do you think it's worth it for me to go to a guy who is effectively my former boss to try and get either new headlights and/or my money back, or should I just cut my losses, nuke this CARQUEST on Yelp, and get new headlights elsewhere when these ones start to turn yellow like the old ones did?

NOTE: I left this job on good terms and have no grievances with the owner of the company whatsoever.

Fairly recently, the local police were made aware of a homeless person sleeping in a tent in the woods near my work; The homeless person was ordered to leave by the cops, and I don’t know if this particular piece of land is owned by the railroad or the township, but all of the trees were torn down just to discourage people from camping there...

Prior to the mass demolition of the trees and plants, those train cars would have been completely hidden!

I heard something about the homeless person having been there for something like two months before getting caught, due to being so well hidden by the trees; I believe they were found in December 2019 or January 2020.

I had to repost one of the more recent pictures of my truck for a little somethin’ Bob is helping me with...

In this picture, my truck is parked in what was once it’s de facto assigned space outside the bar where I worked for more than four years!

If you still have your old headlights you might be able to clean them up, they turned yellow on my old 2008 so I wet sanded and then buffed and they turned totally clear again.

They also had leaked, and in addition to that had hairline cracks; Don't think I want to put those back on; On top of that, the parking light in one of them was burnt out...

Besides, I think I might have thrown them away when we redid the garage.

The original post contains a photoshopped picture of my truck created by my friend (same guy who installed my stereo and backup camera) to give me an idea of what my truck might look like with blacked out wheels...
