So there I was, Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina, November 1999, sitting in the chow hall with my buddies in the RAF Regiment. A Frenchie corporal we all particularly despised because A) his uniform was tailored waaaay too tight, and B) he was caught canoodling with a (married) US Army LtCol made of mistake of leaving his weapon unsecured.

He forgot it when he went to put up his tray.

In the two minutes it took him to remember his weapon, Curly (the bald guy, his real nickname, a Jason Statham looking dude) had the weapon completely stripped (under the table, no look) and the parts handed to everyone under the table. Since I had my Gore-Tex on, I got the stock. As soon we got everything stashed, Frenchie showed back up in full panic.

    No weapon to be found.

We left one at a time, meeting back up at the Provost Marshall's office. Curly then reassembled the offending Frenchie's weapon and proceeded inside to report a "found" weapon.

Frenchie caught hell and was reassigned out of Sarajevo (where we could drink) and down to Mostar (where no one could).

We felt it was fitting, and toasted to his departure that evening.

It's amazing my liver survived that deployment.

Yes. About 40, red-head, petite - think Jurassic Park 2 Julianne Moore as a reservist intelligence officer.

The entire site was PISSED that that corporal got his hooks into her, then pissed at her when we found out she was married. Enlisted were getting busted hard for being cheaters - officers needed to get busted too.

No one liked the French regardless because, well, they're the French. Lots more "we hate the French" stories (except Marcella and Paul in the chow hall - they were artists) that are hysterical.

    Most involve alcohol.

I'm not a frog fan at all.

We did support them in asskrakistan and felt bad for them at the unit level, as the frog leadership was politically limited, as to what was authorized in combat ops.

I found Frog leadership to be intellectually limited as well. I mean, don't go on a 7 mile run in your flight suit and then go back into the command and control van like nothing ever happened. Our commander (O-6) would come hide in our van (TACP control) every day at 2, which was when Colonel Froggy got back from his afternoon run. Every day, we'd tell him that he needed to tell the Frenchie to shower. He never did, right up until his replacement came in and declared that rule #1 was that anyone in the command van would be clean and showered every day or he would personally throw them out.

He was true to his word. Great boss!

when someone mentions an attractive woman, photographic or descriptive depiction is implied.

    it's CCIR.

you can't commit to further decision-making or planning without awareness of the degree of attractiveness.

this should have been included in your situation paragraph.
